AnotherSpin
Two Goldbergs performances in one set, studio and live in St. Thomas Church, where Bach is buried. Lang Lang interpretation will leave few people indifferent. I can imagine a variety of reactions, from attentive interest to complete rejection. I like both recordings, yes, they are quite different. cambridgehank 1 Link to comment
Popular Post Musicophile
I just love Blue Bossa. By the way I had the chance to see Henderson live in the early 1990s. ronfint
I was inspired to listen to this after hearing Pharoah Sanders play live (virtually) last night at the Detroit Jazz Festival. Of course, this is one of the greatest and most influential jazz albums of all time. Sanders playing last night was sweet and very spiritual in spite of being considerably slowed by age. The musicians and techs who were able to be there were clearly moved and you could hear them singing along for the final piece “The Creator Has a Master Plan”. By the way, there are still three days of great jazz left and many ways to watch the DJF https://www.detroitjazzfest.org/ AnotherSpin 1 Link to comment
