Do audiophiles watch the Superbowl?

I’ll watch it for the first time in years, only because it’s here in Minneapolis and there may be something related to Prince or a Prince hologram during the halftime show. 

 

If I don’t have to hear the announcers I’ll be happier.

When I was living in England, they would show Monday Night Football condensed into 60 minutes of actual play time.  I realized that could actually hold my attention.  It is all of the ancillary stuff that drives me nuts.

 

I watched the 1986 one.

I’d love a broadcast without announcers and stupid Transformer-esque graphics etc... just show me the game and play the audio I’d hear if I was at the game. They already have microphones placed very well.

If  it's American football,   it seems to have more rules than chess, more interruptions, and it's much slower.

 

If  it's  baseball,  in the  UK only  little  girls play it . They   call it 'Rounders'.

I stopped watching pro football 30 years ago. I honestly try to avoid any products directly tied with the NFL. It is my minuscule  way of voting my displeasure (Read disgust) with the amount of money that was being thrown around and the fawning by the public over sports/media "stars"  I could care less about the ingrates.

Here is my issue with these "public/private" consortiums that pay for professional sports complexes. The financing is ultimately subsidized and I am opposed to any "welfare" to those who are ABLE to pay their own way. No matter if it is billionaires getting subsidized loans or millionaires section 8 housing landlords getting direct payments from the government or the able minded and able bodied living in those section 8 houses. ALL of them are on the government tit.

That's about 10 degrees warmer than it is right now in Edmonton. And I still have zero interest.

Hell yes,  I always have money on the line, tons of food and friends gathering together.  I've been going to a friends house who has a JBL Synthesis system with a Christie 4K projector on a 144" screen, just stunning.  I just hope for an entertaining game.

No.  We usually go grocery shopping during the game, as it's the one 3-4 hour period of the year the grocery store is practically guaranteed to be empty.

 

NOTE:  We will be recording it, because we like P!nk who will be singing the national anthem and because we have a passing interest in the halftime show.  We just fast-forward through the game, though - who's playing this year?

Hell yes.  Even though I've packed up the high end music portion of the music room in anticipation of the Big Move West (and no, not because the Browns have sucked for 30 years and the Cavs have sucked for 3 months), the stuff that is staying put for awhile for "staging" the house for sale is still a pretty damn good place to watch these kinds of things.    (Note:  screen is washed out simply due to photo and having lights up to show some detail.  Grills are on Aerials to keep openhouse kids mits off them!!).

 

 

 

P.S.  Music system is reduced to listening to my new Nighthawk headphones, a clear first world problem.
