Archimago
BTW, some discussion on COVID on the blog (not audio related). Have been in discussions yesterday for hospital contingency plans and stuff locally. http://archimago.blogspot.com/2020/03/covid-19-few-thoughts-finding.html I think we'll survive folks... Just be careful of the elderly and those with comorbid illnesses. Much more concerned about the economy than COVID at this point in terms of the big picture even though there will obviously be difficulties in the next few weeks. We might need a thread on "Recession/Depression Listening" in the next few months depending on how things go. Archimago's Musings: A "more objective" take for the Rational Audiophile. Beyond mere fidelity, into immersion and realism. R.I.P. MQA 2014-2023: Hyped product thanks to uneducated, uncritical advocates & captured press. Link to comment
Qhwoeprktiyns
No, we will not all survive, and it will only be worse if we fail to understand the criticity of the situation and don't start acting responsibly now (taking measures to isolate yourself and your immediate family). You don't die of unemployment, at least not in the United States and Europe, and the economy will recover. Back to audio... Rexp 1 Link to comment

Qhwoeprktiyns
Its one thing discussing listening to music while in "confinement", but when it turns into a platform for people to express the view that Covid is not a serious health hazard, then it should stop. Obviously we all die at some point. But do you want to dye now suffocating because you are left unattended in an overcrowded hospital, or at best taken care of but putting nurses and doctors at risk because they are shoving tubes down your throat without basic protection? This topic should simply be closed. CG 1 Link to comment
Qhwoeprktiyns
P.S. Archimago - stick to posting about Audio rather than spreading your fallacies about Covid, or at least, stick to doing it on your website. CG 1 Link to comment
Popular Post bobbmd
I listened to a fascinating ‘talk’ on either ‘Outlaw country’ or ‘Bakersfield’ on Sirius the other day all about Billy Joe Shaver never really heard or paid attention to him so I put him into search on TIDAL/Qobuz and made a 790 song playlist of all his stuff alone and with bunch greats of outlaw country— WOW great music if you like this genre. Lasts for days really helps while I am ‘Charles in Charge’ caring for my CFO after knee replacement(she can’t stand this whinny music so I am reduced to headphone listening) and doing telemedicine instead of actually seeing patients(most are too scared to leave their homes anyway). Y’all stay well hunkerdown wash your hands!! No cases yet in my county in upstate central ny but all around us and my golf course restaurant is open for takeout including my Logavulin and cigars!! If you think I underestimate the danger connected with COVID-19, you are wrong. But I'm also against the expressions of panic that we often see nowadays. E.g. we need to understand the simple fact that if one person decides to buy 20 packs of spaghetti and to stuff 20 loafs of bread into his freezer, another person may have no possibility of buying them at all, which happened to me a couple of days ago - I visited 2 supermarkets and 2 smaller grocery stores and didn't get all I needed. I admit had to struggle a little bit to do just a normal, regular shopping but I did it because such should be IMO responsible, adult behavior in circumstances like these. I'm not even mentioning safety measures connected directly with the spreading of the virus. BTW I'm really amazed by a really responsible reaction of the Dutch society to the situation connected with coronavirus. Of course people keep more physical distance to each other which is absolutely necessary, the streets are half empty and the atmosphere is a little depressed but at the same time there is a very distinct kind of 'we are in it together and we must deal with the situation together' spirit in the air. Which is absolutely great! IMO this may even be one of the most important lessons we've learned in these hard times. BTW the choice of goods in grocery shops is almost normal now.. 12 hours ago, sphinxsix said: In fact none of us will, it's only a question of time This was a joke but actually with a quite serious allusion to the fact that for most of us the 'final fact of life' topic is still something we are not very comfortable with. But this is probably not the right place to discuss it, I agree with that. 5 hours ago, hopkins said: P.S. As for Archimago posting on this topic here, I'm ok with that. Wishing you lots of peace. I deeply believe we are all able to deal with this definitely difficult situation together Teresa and daverich4 1 1 Link to comment
