Popular Post wgscott
What I have learned here recently is this: 1. Genuine Audiophiles (aka "subjectivists") require a safe space from pessimistic naysayers and incorrigible vultures of ill-omen (aka "objectivist heretic small-minded tin-eared cheapskate trouble-makers"). 2. Genuine Audiophiles, despite requiring such a safe space, emphatically do not need protection from consumer fraud. 3. Genuine Audiophiles are not afraid to spend a lot of money to achieve the best possible sound (which can only be determined by means other than objective measurements). 4. Fake Audiophiles (aka "objectivist heretic small-minded tin-eared cheapskate trouble-makers") are financial losers who are simply jealous of other people's success, so they want to drag everyone down into their Class D amp-infested cheapskate hell-holes of audio mediocrity, rather than shell out some real bucks to achieve the best possible sound. 5. All of the invasive flashing ads that wallpaper the website, and all of the sponsored forums, pay the bills here. I had what drunks refer to as a moment of clarity: I think a major opportunity is being lost. Why not make a pay-to-post objectivist-free subforum? Cheapskate financially-impaired objectivist scum not only would be excluded from participation without having to institute any new rules, but the paid-for safe space could really rake in the revenue, given how many genuine audiophiles there are. If paying a large premium for a small increment of improved sound isn't problematic for Genuine Audiophiles, why not pay a large premium for a safe-space to post about your success with a grounding box, free from pessimistic naysayers and incorrigible vultures of ill-omen (aka "objectivist heretic small-minded tin-eared cheapskate trouble-makers")? The free-access part of the website could then be left to the cheapskate trouble-makers and Genuine Audiophiles who might feel like slumming it (or value genuine discourse outside of an echo-chamber). It will be the free marketplace of ideas. What could possibly be more perfect? pkane2001, askat1988, lucretius and 10 others 1 1 2 8 1 Link to comment
Dutch
It’s more effective to make posting crap anywhere on this forum prohibitively expensive for both those “pessimistic naysayers and incorrigible vultures of ill-omen (aka"objectivist heretic small-minded tin-eared cheapskate trouble-makers”) and “Genuine Audiophiles”. Jud
Two thoughts: - There are expensive Class D amps. Whatever is one to think about them? - Beware moments of clarity. wgscott 1 One never knows, do one? - Fats Waller The fairest thing we can experience is the mysterious. Popular Post Sonicularity
Reminds me of the time an expensive establishment would not allow me entry to use the restroom. I said that I had little to lose and could perform my duties anywhere. Deny me the facilities at your peril. They let me in. wgscott, esldude and pkane2001 3 Link to comment
