I dont know if it is superior but Corning ClearCurve is very good I use that with my single-mode 1310nm sfp modules.

Try a good single mode cable >= to 5 meters in length and single mode 1310nm SFPs like the Finisars that are widely available used on Ebay.

Thanks! A quick look at eBay and a lot of sellers from India - are there fake Finisar SFP's?

The Finisar SFPs purchased on Ebay for my use all come from vendors in the US. I have never purchased an SFP from India, and most likely never will.

Yes I have heard of this manufacturer but I cannot find internet sellers of this cable in the LC-LC termination.  Do you know a seller?

Regards

Somehow "good" was turned into "superior". By "good", I meant that it works, the opposite of "bad" meaning it doesn't work. I have both.

I am not interested in fiber cable "rolling" per se, but if someone finds a "superior" cable that could be interesting.

If I understand  @MrKlutz right it works for a while but then looses connection when he uses the SFP so it does work for a while.

I played at least two songs through the Ethernet/copper-line attached with no issues (green and orange light)...

So there definitely something going on with the spf.

Hi Michael:

Thanks for going through the steps to confirm that your EtherREGEN is working well through all its copper ports.

Since there really is not much to the SFP cage (its connector is just wired straight to the main switch chip (and there is a 3.3V power network dedicated to powering whatever SFP transceiver you insert), the most likely source of your issue is one of the SFP transceivers (could be either the one you insert in the EtherREGEN or the one upstream).  You said you had a big power surge, so maybe one of them--or your TP-Link FMC has been damaged.

Please experiment further with: different FMC, different SFP transceiver modules, etc.  I'm sure you will discover the source of the trouble.

Feel free to contact us directly for additional assistance.

Best wishes,

--Alex C.

The listening/ chill room is complete and waiting on the arrival of the Sony 85" 900h tv.  I love my Regan in my 2 channel system as it is as simple as it gets.  Modem/Router> Supra Etthernet> Regen> Sotm cable> Cary DMS 600 Streamer/dac.

I am asking if the Regen will lose SQ if used a switch to the Sony also. Not so much if it will improve the Sony. Just do not want to lose anything from my 2 channel setup.

Thanks,

first thing i would do is restart your innous device.  next thing i would do is put everything on the "a" side to see if that works.  then you could also flip sides (innous from "b" to "a" side and your network connection from "a" to "b" side) and see if that works.

The “B” side on the ER is 100Mbps whereas the Innuos Zenith appears to be 1000Mbps (1Gbps) speed according to their specs.

As noted above, if you connect it to the “A” side and it works then that is the problem. If so, you could turn the ER around so incoming is side “B” and output is side “A”.

My server reboot did not help. My network speed averages just below 100mb . Does the ER require over 100 MB speed to function properly? It was also mentioned about shorter cables from out of the ER to the server are recommend, my ethernet cable is 20 feet. I’ll try reversing A to B.

Switching the direction of the mote from a to B to A and back and rebooting everything did not solve my issue. Have I missed something significant here in my purchase. I guess my first and foremost concern is, does the EtherRegen require 100 mbps across the mote in either direction to function properly?  I live in a rural area and we max out at 110mbps a good day with a tail wind. Most the time it averages at 90 mbps.

Network diagram please.  You'll get it. There are lots of Innous/EtherREGEN users.

Use just one Ethernet port on Innous please.

Innous works fine at 100Mbps on 'B' side.

No it does not.

Sorry to be so brief.  Am finishing the export invoices for 60+ international EtherREGEN shipments to go out this afternoon. Have about 90 minutes left for FedEx.

Getting ALL units out over 12 days sooner than the promised date of July 21st! :D

Hope this is not OT but what we are talking about with regards to speed is your local (inside your house) network speed. The speed (e.g. 100Mbps) you refer to, I believe, is the Internet speed in/out of your house and is not really relevant here. Generally, the network boxes inside your house (router, ER, switches, computers) will auto-negotiate with each other depending the speed of each device, generally 10/100/1000Mbps, as well as control the network traffic as needed.

As mentioned, a diagram of your network can help everyone troubleshoot your issue and get you up and running.

Not sure I can draw a diagram, that may take the art department/wife to come up with how to do that. I will do my best here to describe. There is not much in complexity.

Plugged into A side of ER:

Cable providers modem via 2 ft Transparent Audio Ethernet cable

TP-Link AC 1200 WiFi router via 2 ft Transparent Audio Ethernet cable

Plugged into B side of ER:

End point Innuos Zenith MKII SE streamer via 20 ft Transparent Audio Ethernet cable

There is a network Is up because I can stream Wi-Fi through the house. Yellow flashing LED  A side

Yellow Solid LED B side

Had a similar issue a few days ago with new eRG and Aurender ACS10. Would not stream. Network all good. Swapped ethernet cable eRG to streamer. Nope.

Refreshed Conductor app on iPad a couple if times, but it took about an hour of ignoring it and coming back to it before all was fine. All green lights and streaming.

I know it's apples to applesauce, and not common troubleshooting practice, but maybe check back in a bit? I know that is frustrating advice...

Have you tried:

Modem > Router > ER "A" > ER "B" > Innuos

Having the ER between your modem and router doesn't seem to make sense to me but then again I am no network expert.
