Popular Post DuckToller
Gil Scott-Heron was a remarkable artist and person! His father, who later became a poet but left him for Scotland at the age of 2, was of Jamaican origin & the first footballer of Colour at Celtic Glasgow / Scotland. Today I've read the heartwarming (for me) story of an English poet at the Guardian's football section, who was mentored by Scott-Heron for almost 30 years and became a PHD student although he had been "semi-literate unqualified" 18 year young black teenager growing up in the British care system without father and living in a homeless hostel when they met first time. Malik Al Nasir, the man portrayed in the Guardian article, has traced his ancestry in Guyana back to the first black footballer in the Scottish National Football team, which might be the reason the Guardian has published it in the football section. I'd have been more interested to read how GSH guided the 2nd upbringing and the metamorphosis of the young Al Nasir. Certainly a positive story to build on in this unfriendly year ... christopher3393, Confused, sphinxsix and 1 other 2 2 Link to comment

Apologies for the off topic, but whenever I see Peter Jackson, I cannot stop thinking about the low budget gore fest that was "Bad Taste". For those who might be easily offended by such things, do not click the link below, the title "Bad Taste" is accurate. Legend has it that because Jackson was able to produce Bad Taste for so little money was part of the reason he landed the "Lord or the Rings" trilogy. A case of, "if he can do that for $25,000 New Zealand Dollars, what might we get for $281 million US? (234) Official Trailer: Bad Taste (1987) - YouTube By the way, I am very much looking forward to Jackson's Beatles movie, I am sure it will be superb.
