The list of Streamers/Endpoints/Network DACs compatible with JPLAY app.

I'm starting a thread where users can post which streaming devices work well with the JPLAY app and those that don't. I believe it will be helpful. 

 

Let me start with these. All compatible:

 

XACT S1

Weiss DAC501, DAC502, HELIOS

I am using an Antipodes Oladra running MPD player and MinimServer.

 

This seems to run happily and without issues using JPLAY.

Outputting via BNC to a Chord Mscaler and DAVE DAC.

Sonore Rendu series works great. Enable the UPnP option, not OpenHome. 

 

Issues:

Meitner DACs using ConversDigital card, playing Tidal in the US where HTTPS is required. Firmware update coming will fix this. 
 

dCS DACs using StreamUnlimited card have gapless issue right now.

My current setup is HQPlayer Desktop > SoTm -200 NAA.  Do I need anything else to use JPLAY Remote?

Unfortunately JPlay for iOS doesn’t work with HQPlayer Desktop as it isn’t UPnP capable, HQPlayer embedded is needed and a UPnP mediaserver too (possibly Minimserver)

Thanks! If I took HQPlayer out of the equation, It’s not clear how to get JPLAY remote to connect to steam Qobuz out of USB to my DAC

You can use your SOtM sms200 configured as MPD & DLNA client instead of HQPlayer NAA endpoint, then use JPlay for iOS to login on Qobuz and select the sms200 as the renderer, that’s all

Isn’t it a usb dac? It’s not a network UPNP renderer …

With Eversolo DMP-A6 plays one song from playlist and then stops.  This is in both Tidal and Qobuz.

Arcam CDS50 network streaming player does not work too well and has the following issues when I use it to stream Qobuz tracks:

 

1. Main issue.  Whenever I select a track to play, it only plays that one track and stops. Does not move onto the next track in album or playlist. 

2. I have to select “Force stop before play” so that I can manually select other tracks without any error message whilst playback is occurring. But with this option ticked, whenever the app/player is restarted the tracks do not play at all (error message “Error sending action to renderer“) until that option is unticked again. Then i can play a track but have to reselect the “Force” option again to be able to select other tracks..

 

I have experimented with different configurations in the settings menu (safe transition mode, alternative resume method etc.) but nothing helps..

Same problem here too, with Tidal, Qobuz, and local files (via MinimServer).

 

I don't think this was the case before the latest firmware update (for the Eversolo), but I'm not 100% sure.  

 

Driving me a little nuts trying to figure it out...

For me it's always been the case before and after latest firmware.

I'm sure you're right.  I just don't remember having the issue until lately.  

 

But I don't use JPLAY for iOS all the time...

He probably meant the LinQ which runs HQP Embedded inside it.

Works with Ifi Audio Zen Stream. Best sound quality when update time is set to 12000 and running the Zen Stream in DLNA exclusive mode.

I can also confirm that the BubbleUpnp Server (with DNLA ticked) & Chromecast Audio combo works like a charm. Makes Jplay iOS very useful for me since I now can control the kitchen and bathroom setup with it as well plus improve SQ. 👌🏼
