What do You say - no problem to do it now? I read that were a lot of some problems with, so… Worth to move and pay subscription ? TNX Tradeoffs. Euphony Stylus V4 sounds better than V3 for sure. V4 requires a subscription, but the software is a little buggy, and V4 isn't updated very often. V3 is yours to keep forever, but is unlikely to ever be updated again. genvirt 1 Link to comment

I use it exclusively as a Roon core and don't use their stylus player. Tried Win10 and 11 briefly, but they were nowhere close to the euphony sq and ease of use. genvirt 1 Server | EMM | Dartzeel | Evolution Acoustics Link to comment
genvirt
Well, tried today to install v4 - made an usb stick as Euphony guided… but strange thing - bios won’t see usb device attached. Tried a couple I’d DOKs - nothing . My internal drives are recognized all, but not DOK - checked and enabled all usb ports. it possible I should toggle some other bios config option ? (my board Asus Rog crosshair vII hero). Big TNX for helping. Link to comment
BCRich
@genvirt Hi, make sure you have the USB drive set as your first boot drive. There is also a chance it didn’t write correctly. Hope this helps. This happens not only for euphony preinstalled drive - it’s happens to any doc that I tried to attach. bios not “see” them… very strange.. Link to comment

There are two places in the BIOS. When I was trying Volumio 3 on a Ryzen mini-PC i have, I had to turn off secure boot and there is 2 different places in the BIOS to turn it fully off. genvirt
Well, some how I boot and v4 has installed - so far so good will continue to check it. If some can suggest some setup options - TNX By the default it set on Bit- perfect is this good or better goes for upsampling / DSP & upsampling? (Will try both of course later). cheers and thanks for helping! dc-audiogeek 1 Link to comment
Popular Post danielB
I d say bit perfect if you already have at least cd quality files,or mozzaik dsd64 upsampler but it comes with anual subscription and some resources demands. Ramroot, play from ram,cpu/irq isolation will improve the sq as well dc-audiogeek and genvirt 1 1 Link to comment
flkin
Latest version is a beta version which doesn’t pop up until you switch on the beta function in expert settings. This defaults to the 5.18 kernel which sounds harder than the 5.14 kernel in my system. Otherwise a good upgrade for playback stability. msb1
Just curious.. what hardware is everyone using for running Euphony? I've just built a server with the Z11PA-U12 MB and Intel Xeon Gold 6138 CPU. Powered through a SMPS and a HDPlex DC-ATX Was using an old dual core based machine earlier. Huge improvement across the board. Server | EMM | Dartzeel | Evolution Acoustics Link to comment

Smaragdhk
I've always preferred the Kernel 5.18 kernel in V4 but after reading @flkin's post I wanted to compare with 5.14 except it doesn't seem to change when attempting to swap kernels. The white circle in the red square keeps revolving endlessly... I've rebooted several times but keep seeing "please wait until the procedure is finished"... Seem's I'm stuck on 5.18, anyone has the same problem? Link to comment
Popular Post flkin
I heard of others having this issue but recently the kernel switching works consistently for me. I’ve noticed that the LAN connection needs to be working well for quick kernel swaps. Try cleaning the connectors perhaps? I had good results especially after using Stabilant 22. Reminder - Ensure you’re not in Ramroot when doing kernel switching. If all fails, you can try a clean reinstall or switch to the latest beta Euphony. aangen and Smaragdhk 2 PinkFaun - Vinnie Rossi - YBA - QSA Lanedri - Wilson Link to comment
Smaragdhk
Thanks, I'm using a Pink Faun Lan isolator at the server's LAN port... not sure if that could be the cause, I'll try again removing it first... Link to comment
Popular Post Smaragdhk
Well, I tried removing the isolator, cleaning it as you suggested and guess what, it worked! On to comparing kernels again, have a nice weekend all! flkin and aangen 1 1 Link to comment
