Audiophile Tea

@The Computer Audiophile  Yeah, why isn’t there any AS paraphernalia, or any tchotchkes, available yet?  This could be the start of your personal fashion line.  You know, like all the Kardashians have!

This is something that kills me. A great friend is in the clothing and design business. We've created some really great AS stuff that I'd love to offer, but I haven't figured out how to handle packaging it up and shipping it out. That takes time. I also refuse to use the online shops like Tea Spring etc... that do it al for you. The stuff we've designed uses materials and design options far better, that those services offer.

Perhaps a project for the weekend :~)

No blind taste testing required :~)

When I have a minute I will tell about a friend of mine who actually not only did that but also was good at that :)

Yeah a friend of mine who run a tea house did 'blind' test teas. He was very good at that - he usually without a mistake could say which one of a couple of dozens of teas that were served there he was drinking without his prior knowledge of the tea brand. BTW he once also proved that tea can be almost as dangerous as alcohol and after a long night with lots of strong tea almost lost his consciousness and fell of the stairs..

So beware tea lovers, don't overdose! x-D

Back to audio and tea - did someone check if an electric kettles cables matters.? ;)

Downunder, it's called Billy tea, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billycan

And, I indeed drink the stuff,

Why? As said, it's a hearty, full flavoured brew, very satisfying when you get it exactly right - this sounds a bit wanky, but it's a similar hit to a good glass of red; in terms of being moreish ...

Bamboo Stick Pu-erh, 1980s – In Pursuit of Tea

I did buy this for my wife for Christmas one year. That is how the Chinese used to ship expensive tea, in Bamboo.

She still has not used it....

Panda Dung tea is, perhaps, the most bizarre and nutrient-rich tea in the list. What makes it so peculiar? One of the most expensive teas in the world, Panda Dung tea, is made with the help of panda poo. Pandas eat wild bamboo and only absorb 30% of its nutrients.

I totally ROFLMAO since those "delicacies" could very well be compared to the Wadax Atlantis Reference DAC + Server combo as well as TechDAS Air Force Zero etc.

Though it might not seem to be so bizarre once we realize how it's meant to work

In 2002, a wealthy purchaser paid 180,000 yuan – almost $28,000 – for just 20g of China's legendary Da Hong Pao tea. Even in a culture that’s valued tea drinking as an art form for around 1,500 years (and has a system of tea classification that makes French wine look simple), the price was astonishing.

Original Da Hong Pao doesn't just cost its weight in gold – it costs more than 30 times its weight in gold: almost $1,400 for a single gram, or well over $10,000 for a pot. It’s one of the most expensive teas in the world.

In 2005, a small amount of leaves were auctioned off at almost two million U.S dollars per kilogram. In 2006, the four bushes were insured by the People’s Insurance Company of China for one hundred million RMB, or about fourteen million U.S dollars.

The black tea I drink everyday because I love the flavor and I like what the company is all about.

Organic Nepali Golden Black from Young Mountain Tea

Chris, are there 1 or 2 other Darjeeling teas you strongly recommend from Young Mountain that have a markedly different flavor so I can try some contrasting styles?

The other ones I’ve tried from there didn’t thrill me compared to my pick and I’ve long forgotten which ones they are :~(

Of late, I've gotten addicted to loose leaf Persian Shamshiri tea

As far as I can tell, Persian is the brand name, but the tea actually is from Sri Lanka.

Wherever it's from, it does get good reviews on Amazon:

Yeah it’s not fancy, it’s a style of tea drunk in Iran and the Middle East. Similar to Earl Grey, and infused with bergamot.

I like this brand. It’s imported by Quality Tea Company.

The moment I moved to the city I live in now, 2 years ago, I found myself a new hobby (not as dangerous as audio though 9_9) - I began buying some tea stuff every now and then.
