Good morning @Miska and all. Just a quick one: I am playing a 24/192 source and the apodizing counter is above 12000. What is the reason for this behaviour? Thank you.

It is being detected as possibly upsampled content. You could check HQPlayer Client metering to confirm whether this is the case or not.

Based on that, Aapo can possibly find the license key from our database.

Is Aapo same as user dabassgoesboomboom in Roon ?

Is he available here?

Should i send him a message through Roon ?

The fingerprint is no problem to obtain.

You should be able to get your license key file from Andrew

You can buy a license from me but you would need to email me the key from your unit and I would need to email it to @Miska and then email the key back. It would  be much faster to just order the key directly from  @Miska

I have some nice instructions on how to install HQplayer on a sonicTransporter and also how to get the key you need.

Those instructions won’t work. They don’t explain how to upgrade. You even get an error message. See picture.

As explained before, the fingerprint isn’t enough in order to purchase an upgrade.

You need a license file. Or license key. (Same thing).

How to a make a license file based on fingerprint? Not possible.

It seems a guy named Aapo, not @Miska is the key to solve this.

How can I get in contact with Aapo?

Well I try the suggested email, and report back.

We never sold the license directly only with new hardware and it was only slightly lower then Signalyst not 30%.

Thanks, then I know why I haven’t the original license key available 😀

What did you click on to get that message. All the links on that page are working.

Also the link to HQplayer shop takes you to version 4. Not version 5.
https://order.shareit.com/product?vendorid=200082742&productid=300779869&languageid=1&nolselection=1

And for some reason you need also to submit fingerprint in addition. Don’t know why.

No, Aapo is my only employee handling license key updates and such.

DBGBB on Roon forum is one of HQPlayer customers.

No, so far Aapo is not on any of these forums.

Best is to use our info or support email, both end up on both my and Aapo's email inbox.

I believe we got your email, I will respond to it shortly.

Thanks for sending me license key. Great support. Problem solved. Now just waiting for @agillis to finalizing the sonicTransporter upgrade. Assuming quite busy as high demand for upgrade 😀

Does the nblocks setting interact with the ecores setting?  I haven’t experimented with the nblocks setting - but ecores=pool works best for me.  Maybe with nblocks at a higher setting ecores=filter works better?

Yes, nblocks affects all cases. However, the largest L3 cache is shared between all core types. While smaller L2 cache is CPU group specific and even smaller L1 is CPU core specific.

@Miska Is the latest embedded readme.txt available on your website at all? I'd like to understand the ecores and nblocks options. When I load embedded to my Ubuntu server, I do not see a readme text anywhere. It would be great if there were a link on this page: Signalyst - Installing HQPlayer Embedded

You can find it here

/usr/share/doc/hqplayerd/readme.txt.gz

Sorry, but find it where? It's not linkable...

Should I mount an image, or write image to usb stick first? Cannot find it doing both..) since for me are not mountable in last builds

Stereo is the default. Yes, it is possible to do multichannel. Eventually that will begin to restrict your maximum sampling rate.

In normal UAC2 you have roughly following limits:

2 channels: 768k

4 channels: 384k:

8 channels: 192k

16 channels: 96k

32 channels: 48k

Overall, current limit for HQPlayer is 128 channels, except for some DSD cases 48 channels.

Do i need to do something (in HQPlayer Desktop on Windows or in OS NAA) to get 6 or 8 or 16 channels flowing from Apple Music on Mac to OS NAA over USB then to HQPlayer Desktop on Windows?
Currently i have set audio:default/0/6 in HQPd but in MacOS i see "Playback Inactive" for 2 outs (= 2 channels) only.

What i am doing wrong?
