Nějaké aktualizace novinek:

Final v4 je plánován na konec tohoto měsíce. A nainstaluje se do stávajícího oddílu v3, takže hudební soubory a seznamy skladeb v3 zůstanou nedotčené a měly by fungovat.

V příští aktualizaci nám bude umožněno přidat oddíl EUPHONY_MUSIC neaktivní instalace Euphony do aktuální knihovny.

About 15 days go my Asus Motherboard failed and had to be sent back for replacement. This PC uses an AMD Ryzen 7 3700x processor with 16GB ECC RAM powered by a Hdplex LPSU  400W DC-ATX supply.

I had an old Gigabyte Motherboard with an Intel Pentium Dual Core CPU and 8GB DDR3 RAM lying which I thought I would try with Euphony V4. Everything installed smoothly and I was surprised at how good it sounded in comparison to the AMD 3700x.

During this time I also got my hands on the AMD 4700s kit with 16gb DDR6 RAM.

I got the Asus motherboard back a few days ago and compared all 3. I played around with different settings (CPU frequency, isolation, etc.) and to my ears, the old Pentium sounds the best (quieter, darker backgrounds and warmer). I compared them using Roon as well as stylus.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Is the Pentium dual core happen to be 4th gen? I'm liking my old Intel 4th gen i5 on an Asus motherboard too. Sounds more natural than my 7th gen and 8th gen NUCs

I think this is the 3rd gen.

Given that recent buyers of v3 has v4 included, I suppose this means Euphony is switching to the Roon model where you can either pay an expensive one-time fee which doesn't expire or opt for a low priced monthly fee. 🤔

One thing I noticed in 0707, don't click the new ignore button for devices (settings). Itchy fingers made me do it for my uPNP device and I couldn't get it to appear again after that. If you did, you'd then have to open a browser developer console and execute the command:

changeAudioField("uuid........", "ignored",""); uuid..... being the id for the ignored device to get it back.

Or open a ticket to get help, which is what I did...

I would expect that V3 users who also participated actively in the beta program including taking time to feedback issues - small or big - would get a permanent V4 licence.....

Meant of course the ability to purchase a permanent licence for a decent price - not get one for free.

Honestly this is a big no no for me. I don't understand why a piece of SW such as Euphony needs a subscription based model. I can understand it for stuff like Roon, which is kinda like a live service with lots of activities going on in cloud / background. For Euphony I don't get it. Not to mention, that from a subscription based service I would expect much better software QA, better UI, etc. I mean seriously, some of the bugs that I have found during beta (and reported) tell me they don't spend a lot of time on software testing. And I had no problem with that because it was kinda fun and I felt I'm doing my part to support a small startup team that is trying to make a very unique product. Let's see the price, but I'm seriously disappointed with their approach.
