    HQ Player

Hi @Miska Could you please advice on my question? Thank you in advance.

    HQ Player

I am not very familiar how the number of CPU threads is influencing HQPlayer's performance, so my question is the following: Which CPU is more preferable when using HQPlayer? i7-9700T (8 cores, 8 threads, 4,3 Ghz max.) i7-8700T (6 cores, 12 threads, 4,0 Ghz max.) Thank you for your advice in advance.
  3. Sounds very promising, however my Streacom FC-10 case is specified for max. 65W TDP processors. Therefore, maybe I should stay with i7-9700T. Is there a big difference in sound between "K" and "T" versions or only subtle?
  4. Has anyone tried the i7-9700t? It is more or less the same price as i7-8700t, but has 2 more cores (vs. 8700t). However, the number of threads is only 8 (vs. 12 of 8700t). The 9700t goes up to 4.3 Ghz,while 8700t to 4.0 Ghz. Which CPU would be your choice, in case of very similar prices? I would be using Audiolinux, Roon and HQPlayer.
  5. Could you please advise if 16Gb Optane Card is sufficient for the following?: - Audiolinux headless, - Roon Rock (currently 1.500 albums, which will increase to 2.000-2.500 in the following 1-2 years), - HQPlayer (desktop or embedded, not sure which version). I would use 16 GB RAM and probably run Audiolinux in RAM root mode. Thank you for your advice.
  6. I would avoid purchasing from Amazon, as it is directly not available in my country.
  7. The configuration of my new Control PC is shaping nicely and I have been thinking about the following build: Morherboard: ASUS Z390-I ROG Strix Gaming mini ITX (familiar to many of you as I am following some recommendations regarding previous builds) CPU: i9-9900 (not the K version, as I am a little bit afraid of overheating in Streacom FC-10 case) RAM: 2 x 8Gb Apacer ECC RAM (D31.23245S.001) Hope it will be compatible with the motherboard. Any experience with this specific RAM under the mentioned item number? Boot drive f
  8. Hello, I would like to ask for your kind advice, which scenario would be the best solution for me in case of building a music server/control PC (as Roon Core). System: The dac to be used is an Ayre QX-5 Twenty (via USB input), which synergize well with my endpoint SOtM SMS-200ultra (with SPS-500). According to one of our very knowledgeable forum members (who knows both products very well), the Ayre QX-5 Twenty is not a DAC that can be transformed by HQPlayer (with heavy PCM to DSD conversion). Therefore only PCM upsampling is needed to 352/384 kHz, so heavy co
  9. Hello, Maybe somebody has an experience or advice on this: Is it possible to power the following 2 devices (using an Y cable) at the same time with a single SOtM sPS-500 power supply (9v)? 1st device: SOtM sMS-200 ultra (jumper is at 9V) 2nd device: Etherrregen Switch Thank you very much in advance for your kind answer. Regards, Csaba
  10. Hi Ryan, Nice to hear you have an update in the pipeline. What is expected to be updated? USB module? Ethernet module? Mini motherboard? Maybe all three? When is it expected to be ready? All the new implemented technologies will be introduced in a new model, or will be possble to retrofit into existing QX-5 Twenty devices? Thank you very much for your clarification in advance. Best regards, Csaba
