Popular Post rando
I'd hazard the similar shapes layed out where you can examine how the slight differences can be starkly obvious or very fine. Popular Post rando
Plus, artistically the works have grown beyond direct reverence. National Geographic also has some unexpectedly good images merging the modern world with thousands of years old cultural aspects. For some reason one of a Cessna crashing into the pickup truck the photographer just arrived in being watched by a small robed group of men and their animals came to mind. As an example album cover for a work that saw unexpected violence at the premiere. sphinxsix and Musicophile 2 Link to comment
rando
Yes, I want to say there's a series of photos, film so not exactly 20 frames a second, with the other elements I mentioned. Thanks for tracking that down. Link to comment
rando
An underachieving Järvi (probably only in the recording sphere) and a violinist not represented in my listening until tonight. Unlike my dramatic example above the forces here were well matched. christopher3393 1 Link to comment

rando
@austinpop interesting choice. In the midst of digesting a large number of albums the MO Vänskä passed through my posts in here. To no small and no positive effect in reactions towards the story of this saga. 😲 Album of the 'why did I have to wake up so early on a Saturday' morning coot 1 Link to comment

rando
This is a three disc set + short book covering a selection of Willie Nelson's solo and collaborative work from 1975 through 1993. Mastering is very consistent if not a bit too polished. Link to comment

Recent live recording. Great cover, imho. Through all of your long history of rambling excoriating behavior I've witnessed in this thread. Hard pressed to remember an actual album ever being posted! rando
@The Computer Audiophile harkening back to a time when pop acts didn't need to drop the F word and name drop an artist with infinitely more talent on an album cover. 🔫👶 The Computer Audiophile 1 Link to comment

We have some serious name-dropping on the album cover, however--look at the work title haha! There are musicians of great caliber that gain recognition within their own lifetime who live among nobility. Then there are musicians who briefly attain surreal adoration providing entertainment to the masses and fade into obscurity. Even in the earlier centuries a gap existed between popular and poptart, sacred and profane. Link to comment
rando
@AudioDoctor have you ever checked out the BIS recording of "The Minnesota Symphony". Last I looked at eclassical it was high on their list of best sellers. AudioDoctor 1 Link to comment

Harald Sæverud's 8th symphony was commissioned by the state to mark its 100th anniversary and premiered by Doráti at Northrop Auditorium. BIS album features Truls Mørk with Ole Kristian Ruud conducting the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. Was somewhat shocked to see it a best seller. I posted in here a few years back, but it should be easy enough to find on a streaming or the eclassical site. AudioDoctor 1 Link to comment

rando
Alright, I'm rebooting my thread on appropriate items to pair with music. No crying allowed there was a tastefully artistic rendering of the female form involved if you post from work! @WAM @The Computer Audiophile Would you be so kind as to grant me admin priveledges in the below thread so I can keep it strictly on topic. Popular Post rando
@AudioDoctor for some reason, watching America's Test Kitchen doing a review of electric kettles helped, your mention of getting funky on a cool wet night reminded me of a recurring segment of Bad Obsession Motorsports "Project Binky" on YouTube. rando
This was meant to be my full moon Album of the Evening. Then I forgot to pull the wrapper off before taking an admittedly poor cell photo. Blank spot on top left corner is a metal(?) plaque with DSD logo affixed to case. Have not tried to play SACD layer to see if it exists. Clipping does. Lin Yingping (Solo Gu Zheng) The Moon Over My Heart 08 The Autumn Days_44k.wav christopher3393 1 Link to comment
