antonellocaroli
on rpi I have added a parameter to disable SD-Card polling. By default the system cyclically checks for the presence of the sd-card, even if you use the ramsystem, by setting it to disable the system only checks once at startup. I don't set it as default because I don't know how it behaves with the various sd-cards.... GentooPlayer home Facebook Documentation Link to comment
Branko
Hi, after some problems with BeagleBone Black changed system to Raspbery Pi 4. Still I am a little confused witch Kernel to select? Will only use it as Roon-Bridge device (and sometimes as Airplay device). It here is no advice which Kernel to use: could some one please give some emanation on the (for me) cryptic abbreviations? Thank you Branko Link to comment
RichardT
Hi @antonellocaroli, Many thanks for the amazing software. This isn't a major issue but I'd appreciate your advice when you can. I'm using v6.30 x86 XFCE version on an old laptop running LMS. After a few minutes of no trackpad or keyboard input, the screen turns off. It can be woken again on using the keyboard or trackpad. So it seems that some sort of power-management is still active. In the top left menu on XFCE desktop, under 'settings', if I try to open the power-management menu it tells me it isn't running. If I tell it to open it anyway, the GUI shows it as disabled. This is what I expected - I have selected performance mode using the web interface which I thought disabled power management. What process do you think is causing the screen to be powered down? In a perfect world it'd be great to be able to manually deactivate the screen once I'd set some music playing so long as it could be woken again. Or, failing that, set the time until the screen turns off to a much shorter time like 20 seconds. However, I appreciate that these scenarios would probably require power management to be active which is not considered ideal for sound quality. But if it's going to be running anyway (as it appears to be currently) it would be good to be able to change the settings. Where can I look to see what is controlling the screen? Thanks very much for your help. Richard Link to comment

Je ne le définis pas par défaut car je ne sais pas comment il se comporte avec les différentes cartes SD.... Hi, i have an emmc card and have not notice any malfunction. However I do not know if it is a placebo effect, but I seem to hear an improvement in the sound quality Link to comment

I'll try setting power manager to autostart as you suggest. I have tried setting it as you showed in the first screenshot. When I try to access this from the settings menu, it first tells me that power manager isn't running and do I want to start it. If I agree to start it, I get the same screenshot as you took, showing it turned off. However, something is still turning off the screen after about 10 minutes. I assume it must be running and maybe the GUI is not picking this up? Or is there any other process that could be controlling the screen? LMS has a screensaver option but it's disabled and only dims the screen. Link to comment
