Its noticeable for me, because I auto restart my Mac every morning and can't connect to any of my Network Players and neither Tidal. I fixed it by starting A+ with a delay of 30s after the mac starts. 

 

I've looked into scripting upon wake to re-launch A+, there isn't anything out of the box in MacOs, but many paying good solutions (https://www.dssw.co.uk/powermanager/), i may purchase it because I also want to put to sleep and wake up the Lacie little big disk.

 

I may also try the LaunchDaemon tip described here.

I've got "Wake for Network Access" on during energy saving/sleeping state, not sure if this would help in anyway your autostart problem.

In the case of A+, the solution is easy enough I would've thought, instead of sitting on the error popup screen when reconnection to TIDAL fails, A+ simply retries a few times to reconnect to TIDAL. If it still fails then it can report network failure or whatever.
I'm sure @damien78 will come up with the right solution.

Yeah, I also had the "wake for network option" chosen, but no dice. Anyways applescript is so easy and all it took is those few lines, saved as an application and used than in my login items :-)

True, but I think the dev is just inundated with queries (bug reports, feature requests,...).  I am sure he knows what to do and doesn’t need us forum amateurs to design the solution for him 

 

And now I just noticed that A+ is trying to query my printer’s capabilities, ?, no my printer does Not play music ! (I started A+ from terminal so I can see errors on command line)

Your printer must be a UPnP one, and that's why it gets queried as all the UPnP devices on your network to find the ones able to play music. It gets discarded immediately as you have read in the error message

@damien78 Does Audirvana plan to support touch bar and now playing widget (namely MPNowPlayingInfoCenter and MPRemoteCommandCenter) on macOS 10.13+? I recently tried to write a tool to support them via AppleScript, but due to an Apple issue the tool eats lots of CPU and makes my Mac hot.

So far I have been connecting mac running A+ directly via usb to the Dac.

 

Questions:

1.How do I use the Upnp ? How to play from A+ to UPnP player?

 

2. I have an Raspberry Pi 3 running moode connect to another dac, and a SOtM Sms-200 player that I like A+ to send music to. Is that possible? If yes, how do I do that?

 

3. Does A+ work with other software like LMS?

 

4. Suggestion: in A+ preference to add links to online A+ help and manual.

A+ 3.2.6 on an iMac

My settings:

Going to a Sonore ultraRendu > USB > PS Audio DS DAC via UPnP / DLNA from music stored on a Synology 1513+ NAS.

 

Problem: I can't get the DSD128 upsampling when my file is DSD 64. I can get DSD 128 at any other file format and when streaming from Tidal.

 

Can anyone help out? I am a new A+ user and Sonore ultraRendu owner, so I am not sure what to expect.

You need HQ for that.

The use of a UPnP media renderer is quite straightforward: select it as you would for a local USB DAC.

you don't.

In A+ you can also select to convert native DSD to PCM (prefs-> audio system) and then select forced upsampling to DSD128 (prefs-> audio filters).

If I am not mistaken HQPlayer also first converts DSD64  to PCM and afterwards upconverts to DSD128...

Yes, I have a license for AuI and I have used it with excellent results. Trouble is it takes so much time to convert to DSD128 that for me it just isn't feasible. I suppose I could get a faster computer but I can't justify it when the ultraRendu and A+ work so well together.

HQ does Not convert DSD 64 to PCM before converting to DSD 128.

Korg Audiogate will convert PCM to DSD, and export the File.  That File can be can be played on AV+.

It doesn't take long, but you need their Dac to get the best results.

You are mistaken.  HQPlayer stays within DSD.

Good thing too; the conversion from DSD64 to PCM is lossy, so audio information gets lost. And what is lost is not regained in a subsequent upsampling/conversion to DSD128...

Not quite sure. I think HQP also converts to/from PCM on the fly (under the hood).

I remember @mansr once explained there is no other way to upconvert DSD...but again, I‘m not quite sure.

The key is to make sure your RPi software uses MPD and upmpdcli.  I've never used Moode so I'm not sure if upmpdcli is installed.  If A+ doesn't see your RPi as a playback device, you'll need to ask on the Moode forum.   I know that both Volumio and Runeaudio have upmpdcli installed and both work perfectly with A+.  If you can't get Moode to work with A+ try either of these players on your RPi.  They're free.

I asked some mastering guys about this kind of voodoo-player-software like Amara, PurMusic, Audirvana :

The responses were not very nice, but consistent in terms of content. :-(

 

-questionable improvement, mostly undetectable or measurable compared to other programs

-Unnecessary Voodoo up sampling software, It's just like with cable sound...laughable

-So why spend extra money on such a nonsense. Better spend your money on better devices.

-If your DAC is bad, this kind of software will not do it any better. A decent DAC does that, if necessary, internally.

-mostly awkward and shitty handling of Plugins ! 

-Even iTunes passes the Null Test. (google it )

-But you high-end specialists, who do not even own studio devices, know better and better. Just buy HIFI and lots of accessories.
