Found a little bug...

I always have that CD in the Compute ReplayGain window...

It won't calculate or vanished if already compute with JRiver after...

For the same price that I paid for the 3.0 upgrade, I bought also Amarra 4!

What a beautiful experience..., no dsd up, no native dsd, no pcm up, but what lovely rounded sound!

It is hard stop to listen to Amarra 4 that now has a much improved GUI!

It has to be really much better than Amarra 3 to beat A+ 3.0, but why not...I have to say that, at least, the GUI is vastly improved.

I'm A+ user for 3 years and bought the upgrade as soon as it was released!

I tried Amarra several times and never bought it before version 4.

I told several times in A+ threads that I had fadigue with some versions, is easy you check this!

What means "just looks like an infomercial"? I just bought both players and left my impressions. I will not stop use A+ with DSD up!!!

I would hope so. I tried it last year on my Mac Mini and it bombed more times than it played. And, as you admit, the GUI was horrid. I love tubes but don't dig a 'rounded sound' unless you mean more real sound?

Real sound of instruments is rounded and never harsh!

I never had fadigue listen to real instruments at live, even after several hours...

Dunno, but A+ V3 on my Audio Note DAC 5 and KGSShv Carbon to Stax 009s playing 44.1 as NOS sounds amazing, best sound I ever heard anywhere. Yes, better than a concert, for low distortion and purity. Many rock concerts or electronic concerts have lots of distortion and are impressive by the fact they are really loud. Intimate orchestral concerts minus amplification less of course, but having said that full orchestra in a theatre can be a compromise, depending where you sit and how clever the acoustics are at the venue, how many folk in front absorbing the sound.

Best music I heard was probably at my wedding bash with a 6 piece hired from the city hall orchestra playing some  Mozart, and I was maybe 10 feet away.

My idea on the best sound from a home system is everything in balance, to hear every detail but as a natural presentation, not hifi, not V shaped happy response, not veiled and as 3D as possible. The later is a challenge in headphones but can be done. It is all the illusion really, can you forget the gear and enjoy the music?

Follow-up Re: SQ of A+ v3.0.1 - at first I listened with same filter settings I used with v2.6.6. In v3.0.1, I found an increased transparency across frequencies, more realistic imaging, and increased soundstage depth. Bass, especially midbass, had better control and dynamics, but seemed to lose a bit of lowest extension. Upper bass textures were better resolved. Overall dynamics, micro and macro, are increased.
I found that on some albums the treble of cymbals and vocal sibilants were a touch forward and detracted from the positive SQ changes in v3.0.1. I decided to adjust steepness down a touch, and found a better balance for my system for addressing hot treble.

Regarding the lowest frequencies, I'm still not sure whether there is an issue here, because although the change is noticeable, it does not detract from enjoyment. YMMV, but I am now of the opinion that the overall SQ and transparency of this new version are real benefits.
I don't have an MQA DAC and little interest in that path, so I have no opinions to offer there.

This happens unless selected otherwise in the advanced settings of iTunes preferences.

So if you have told Audirvana Plus to synchronise with the folder containing the original files, and the iTunes Media folder, you see the two (or more depending on the number of importations done in iTunes) copies that are present on your disk.

Quick solution is to not synchronise both folders.

Better, but requiring more manual process is to clean up your disk by removing the duplicates.

 

I had this same issue (duplication of all tracks).  It had never happened before, and I've never used iTunes integration, so I doubt that's the explanation.  I was able to resolve it by trashing all of my library files and starting from scratch (losing my playlists in the process), but now I have a different issue: every time I start the application, I get "Error opening library file" and a dialogue box saying, "Can't file library database file at location /Users/adambrown/Library/Application Support/Audirvana Do you want to quit now and try again later or create a new blank library file?"  So, I have to go through the first-time setup process each time i start the program.  Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Go to User... Home Folder... Library... Applications Support... Audirvana Folder...

Trash the AudirvanaPlusDatabase.sqlite and the other files if you have more there.

 

Go to User... Home Folder... Library... Preferences...

Trash com.audirvana.Audirvana-Plus.plist

 

Restart MAC just to be sure and reopen A+ for new setup.

@watercourse or others, wouldn't you adjust the steepness of the filter the other way to address this concern or am I wrong?  Always willing to learn from others here.
