powelb
David Axelrod - Song of Innocence Been working through a bunch of CD rips that I haven't listened to for a long time, or never really gave a fair chance to. This album falls into the latter category, and the sound quality really made me sit up and listen. The clarity of the recording, with each instrument having space to itself, yet still in harmony rather than detached, is a pleasure to hear. Link to comment

Musicophile
Katia Buniatishvilli: Liszt (redbook rip) Her debut album. The interpretation of the great b-minor sonata has been rather controversially reviewed, either you love it or you hate it. On my side, it is one of my preferred versions of this great piece of art. There's just so much energy. Feels very much like Martha Argerich. Tord Gustavsen: The Well (24/96 Qobuz): Beautifully played, beautifully recorded. This album really breathes. REShaman
Norah Jones: The Collection - Covers which is the sixth Hybrid SACD included as a bonus. XLD conversion of the Analogue Productions Hybrid SACD in Stereo. The first five SACDs have all been re-mastered from the original sources by Kevin Gray at Cohearant Audio. Tonight, first SACD of the boxset played this evening was Covers, which is absolutely gorgeous in every criteria, i.e., SQ etc. Disc 6 - Covers (2012) - Hybrid Stereo SACD, all performed by Norah Jones with one duet. 1. Sleepless Nights (The Everyly Brothers) 2. I'll Be Your Baby Tonight (Bob Dylan) 3. Jesus, Etc. (Wilco) 4. Sweet Dreams (Patsy Cline) 5. Cry Cry Cry (Johnny Cash) 6. Picture In A Frame (Tom Waits) 7. Hands On The Wheel - with M. Ward (Willie Nelson) 8. She (Gram Parsons) 9. My Blue Heaven (Fats Domino) 10. Peace (Horace Silver) Enjoying the music, Richard Link to comment

The Notting Hillbillies - Missing...Presumed Having Fun A nice countryish evening The Notting Hillbillies I go back to once a year (however, also not more often) since nearly 20 years when that album came out. I used to use that album (Vinyl) quite regularly for hifi testing purposed (especially Your Own Sweet Way). And Feel Like Going Home makes me sentimental every time I hear it, not matter how cheesy it is. Check out my blog at musicophilesblog.com - From Keith Jarrett to Johannes Brahms Link to comment

REShaman
Diana Krall: Glad Rag Doll XLD conversion redbook CD to AIFF. The ton of Krall's output mostly revolves around standards. Not so with the newly released. Suffice it to say, while not one standard is on the disk, Krall's talents are enough for me to enjoy both the SQ and the content and the musicians who make up the rest. Worth the price of admission (if I may say so). Cover photograph wasn't influential in any manner (I think). Indigo Girls: Indigo Girls. XLD conversion redbook CD to AIFF. Enjoying the music and wishing you the same, Richard Link to comment
mwheelerk
I am currently listening to Randy Newman 12 Songs an XLD rip to AIFF from the Audio Fidelity remaster by Steve Hoffman. With regards to the new Diana Krall I have yet to download this from HD Tracks but intend to. I guess when you say it doesn't feature standards it will depend on your definition of standards as I thought this album featured all songs from the 20`s and 30`s. "A mind is like a parachute.
