Hello Tim, I just completed my 24 pin as well with the Mundorf 15.5awg cable. You will need to pre form each cable to the 24 pin connector and make sure the pins are soldered with the wings pointing toward the latch side of the connector. The 2 small wings sticking up on the pin side of the connector slide into grooves in the Molex connector. With the short cables I made, it was a PITA! Now I still need to complete the other 8 pin EPS with the Mundorf 2.0mm CAW. Good luck, hope this helps.

I actually wanted to thank all who are contributing to this thread. I would have never attempted this without you guys!

 

I think we need to take that Taiko Extreme Server from Nenon so he gets back on this thread he created here. We miss you Nenon and the awesome knowledge you impart.

Yes that is correct first cap on rectifier Mundorf AG 22,000mf 40V > Mundorf 22,000mf 80V>Mundorf/Taiko 220,000mf.

Thanks so much Exocer and Iwr for the kind words! I might have been able to convince my wife to let me just buy the Taiko Extreme had she known what I put her and myself through on this build! I was worried every step of the way that things just would not work including the temperature of the CPU. This is after several hours of being on and playing.(lid off)

Thank you bit01. I did do a few things in the build that you can’t really see! The caps and coils are mounted on a carbon fiber plate and I used some Trex decking  material ( poor man’s Panzerholtz) to mount 22,000mf cap, coils and also did the same for the Taiko transformer and rectifier. The carbon fiber plate with the caps and coils sit on 3 Synergistic Mig isolation cones. The Mundorf CAW cables are not cut and go directly from rectifier board to Taiko ATX with no break in the cable.(just crimped and soldered to make contact with the caps)

Hopefully we can inspire a few more to build and share, much like I have been inspired from all contributors here!

Thanks Tubeman66 for that tip. Just when I thought I thought of everything.

 

I only mention this because all the pictures I have seen here use several jumper cables connecting one cap and make another jumper cable to the next cap and so on. Only exceptions were star ground to one central point! Do to space limitations in this case, star connection was a little tougher to pull off.

@NenonCongratulations on the new audio room. Sure would love a new audio room myself, so I can get my speakers further away from the wall. The new server build is sounding extremely well. Thanks again Nenon and all other main contributors.

It had been a very long time since I had done any changes to my system. So to say the least this server is so much better than my last DIY server! After 2 weeks of 24|7 play was a huge turning point in its presentation and is getting better every day. This was all before adding Jcat Ethernet & USB XE cards and Sablon Evo USB cable. Motherboard USB and Jcat Femto Ethernet card was what I started with. I still have a lot to do and looking for some guidance! I am running Euphony V4 and just wanted to double check on CPU isolation for the dual Xeon 4210 CPU’s. They are 10 core each. So would this be what I put in under CPU isolation: 1-3 stylus 4-9 gstp 10-19

I ask because under CPU temperature settings within Euphony it says CPU % 0-39

So should I put it in as something like this: 0-8 stylus 9-19 gstp 20-39

Any insight for this new Euphony user would be greatly appreciated. 
 

The other next step for me is separate power supply for Jcat cards 1. Ethernet XE 2. Jcat USB XE card 3. Jcat Nvme m.2 OS drive. Sean Jacobs power supply would be ideal but at $7500! I was thinking of getting a couple of DC4 regulator modules and feeding them each with the Lifepo4 20a/h batteries I already have. I also have several Mundorf caps and Vcap bypass caps. Nenon do you know what the input voltage range is on the Sean Jacobs voltage regulator’s. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

My Temps on my dual 4210 across all 20 cores according to Euphony v4 range from 32-38 degrees. This is after playing music for hours on end! This is Stylus alone with no upsampling! Yes this is in the Taiko case. Curious what temps you are getting?

 

I also wanted to thank you for your heroic efforts on reviewing so many power supplies. It helped tremendously in picking my path.

 

 All I can say is a Sean Jacobs based supply I built is incredible. I did 3 x 5 volt rails for Network card USB card and the OS m.2 femto card.

What are your temperatures like at idol nothing playing and temperatures as you go from 44.1 files+?

I would recommend an PCIE adapter and install in slot 3. This allows the m.2 NVME drive to be connected to CPU direct and not through the chipset! I used the JCAT m.2 NVME ssd( so I assume most NVME SSD should work). I am also running Euphony V4. It sounds fantastic! Hope this helps and good luck with the project!

Jumper was off at the time of building out the PC. I believe that was for internal or external power. It is on now, set for external PSU. I built a 3 rail 5v PSU to power 3 JCAT cards.
