I reflashed, so I am in no mode now, trying to figure out what is happening.

Ican't find it on my network now nor can access with orange squeeze (normal as it is not yet configured).

Not sure if it does make some installation at first power on ?

On first start-up, it just does a root resize and restarts a couple of times.

so from now on will there be any version updates any time soon?

I reflashed twice my players sd card, now on V4 so i must do it again, but the server remains in v3.xx

should I wait before I go for V5 for the server?
V.6 in the making? :) :)

V5 is now up and running but I can get no sound out of it.

In system info, I can see the following:

This is a normal message, alsacap can't scan the audio output because it's busy, so either it's playing or some software is occupying it....

Posting the whole system-info is always better.

How did you set up squeezelite?

From version 5, updates should be available again.

However, in order to perform the update you have to disable the ramsystem and any active profiles for obvious reasons.

However the script will check....

Could it be that the system disables these options, makes the update and then re-enable them?

So that this is transparent to the user ?

An issue I have is sometimes the music bugs as if it was an old scratched vynil. It lasts for about 1 or 2 seconds then goes back to normal playing. Could it be a wrong setting in squeezelite ?

it can be...

nmap type enabled....
or alsa parameters too high....

Generally you start with a system with standard settings and make gradual changes and figure out what settings or things bother you....no the contrary....
