Many here have worked under the delusion that they would start to temper their support once all the widely available data was examined. Keep dreaming. These excerpts show they have doubled down: "If MQA didn't audibly improve sound quality to our ears, our coverage would be minimal." Hi, FWIW i share your opinion about MQA, - especially its dangerous and immoral attributes of DRM & Recording industry exploitation of artists. However, - I would be careful about labeling Stereophile as salespeople of any kind, - including "snake-oil." Stereophile is an audio enthusiast magazine that reports on what they define as high performance equipment that is classified as (generally) costing more than $1000 per component. They write and report on gear that they think "sounds good." That doesn't mean that their opinions are right or wrong, or that sometimes they aren't harmful. Think movie reviews. They are at their best when they say, - "if you've loved the original Blade Runner storyline and plot, you are likely not to like the new Blade Runner 2045." I think that it should also be recognized that context is everything. From what I've heard, there have been very few good comparative tests out there. Some of it may be due to the fact that the filter is basically a Meridian sounding filter. In my opinion, - Meridian equipment has always been overly warmed, chocolate sauce.... For me, - the cowardly and greedy position of Meridian in the market is horrible, and adding the icing of muddy sound with their cheap reverb tank called MQA keeps me a million miles away. Thus 'technology', Greek derived. It is fairly recently we separated philosophy, art, technology, and engineering. Albrecht 1 Link to comment

You make good points, but I stand my my statement. They do exactly what salesmen are trained to do..dismiss legitimate concerns, and create a false reality, and create a need where none exists. They are pushing and endorsing a product that is inferior and is harmful to the consumer. I am talking about their conduct with respect to MQA. It is among the most dishonest and disingenuous episodes in their history. I don't need to say more. Spacehound, MrMoM and MikeyFresh 1 2 Link to comment

The software on my dalethorn website represents 15 thousand hours of work. And I also host other things including a fantastic review of racism in western civilization, under Books.
