sphinxsix
The movie with the best reviews in a long time. As a Cate Blanchett fan, I will probably see it today. Check out the accompanying album, guys, a very interesting thing.. orresearch 1 Link to comment
Popular Post DuckToller
Thank you @sphinxsix for reviving this thread I'v completely missed ... lots of very likable films and documentaries in here ... I'd like to add a couple of films here, I loved for visuals, story & soundtracks ... As a German in France it's naturally a mix of both, however the French films were already favorites of mine at times where I would never imagine to live in France with a French partner .., and decades before I moved to France ... DIVA ("It's a Nagra ") - score by Vladimir Cosma SUBWAY (With Madame Adjani!) - Score by Eric Serra and finally "The Edukators" with a remarkable mixed artist soundtrack from German and international artists. >< where my favorite is Lucky Jim's version of LC's Hallelujah here is an age restricted version as well ;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewNsgxM_u5Q sphinxsix and Jud 1 1 Link to comment

Nina Hoss and Cate Blanchett are some of mine favorite actresses, and this film is so rich and thought stimulating in its content. Link to comment

Totally agree, watched it twice as well, a couple days apart, I think I did something like that for the first time. Multilayered movie, Blanchett is absolutely great! Link to comment

Talking about "movies about music" and Nina Hoss, there was a 2019 film called "Das Vorspiel" (The Audition), not as widely available/circulated, that was quite good: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_audition Cheers, W. sphinxsix 1 Link to comment

Seems it's quite safe to recommend seeing this movie twice.. 😎 "A second viewing has swept away – with hurricane force – the obtuse worries I had at the Venice film festival about Todd Field’s entirely outrageous, delirious and sensual psychodrama starring Cate Blanchett as Lydia Tár" Tár review – Cate Blanchett is perfect lead in delirious, sensual drama BTW I'm glad that one of my favorite contemporary movie directors, Michael Haneke is mentioned in this review. orresearch 1 Link to comment
