AudiophileOptimizer - Windows 10 Beta Thread (BETA PHASE CLOSED!)

Quick weirdism: not sure if this has to do with Windows 10 Pro and RDC or my Service Tool step of "strip down Windows 10" but now when I access my new build via RDC I cannot reboot my computer. Hitting the "power" menu item in the start Window simply gives me a "disconnect" which, of course, simply disconencts the RDC session. Any ideas? Any other ways to reboot remotely?

I have the same thing here on Win10. Here is a simple solution:

I create two cmd/batch files for reboot and shutdown - On Desktop and in AO/Tools

c:\windows\system32\shutdown /r /t 3 (restart)

c:\windows\system32\shutdown /s /t 3 (shutdown)

I call them sr.cmd and ss.cmd (System Restart, System Shutdown)

Hi,

finished setting up my brand new Intel Nuc with Windows 10 today. Last step download and install latest AO 2.0 Beta, but the download site is asking for user and password which can not find in the email conversation for registration of AO Beta.

solved due to very quick replay from AO Support team. Bick Thumps UP!

now after install and activation

servicetool and AO can not start due to "das system kann den angegeben pfad nicht finden" (wich means could not find systempath) , i've the german win 10 pro installed, patched with all updates., system could find path

Unfortunately a know bug of the compiler we have to use during the beta phase. You can try disabling/enabling LAN/WLAN Adapater, if this does not help, final release will not contain this bug :)

When i google this problem i get more than 16 million hits, so I don't think AO is the root cause ;-) Let MS fix this..

I managed to fix this by using "cmd" switching to AO Folger and started service_tool.exe via cmd shell.

Good point. However, with dtb300's helpful hint I created two command file icons on my desktop (reboot and shutdown) that execute with one mouse click. Thanks.

Hi

As said, this is a bug in our compiler. What you did has nothing to do with the fact that it's working again. Just telling this so others don't get confused and expect the same to happen while following your steps.

Hi Phil

I am having problems updating from Beat 16 to Beta 17. When I run the setup file, the process begins but AO does not update. It appears to be crashing. I unistalled Fidelizer Pro 7.1 before attempting the update.

Will try a few things and will repost if I find a way around it

Hi

Define "crashing"?

Hi Phil. That was convenient to find you online! You should know by now that my technical problem descriptions are not good but let's try ...

I run the setup file and I see the percentage counting up. I then get to the first window to proceed. Option is C to continue or E to exit. I press C and everything ends. It doesn't hang as such. That window just goes. It will not proceed to the upgrade. I downloaded the install file again and unzipped it just to make sure that I didn't get a dodgy download first time around or a dodgy unpack. I get this problem on both my Audio PC and Control PC. Both are running Windows Server 2012 R2. On my Control PC I have Fidelizer uninstalled. On the Audio PC, Fidelizer remains installed. If I try the same installer file on my desktop PC with Windows 10, it doesn't stop on the first Window so I assume it would install. There would be no point as there is no audio software on my desktop PC.

Any ideas?

Thanks

PS Forgot to mention. Prior to upgrade, I changed back from Core Mode into GUI Mode on both PCs. I tried running the setup file for Beta 16 and that works without any problems

Hi Phil,

has this decision:

"- WLAN works with "disable drivers and services" feature enabled (Win 10)"

any impact on sq measured against switched off WLan? As a constantly turned on WLan forces actions of the OS and therefore additional noise in the electrical circuit I would expect that happening?

Take care

Thomas

Hi

Is it possible that you clicked into the Windows with your mouse? This would cause a "freeze", so avoid using the Mouse inside the command window. The Setup routine is the same ever since, no changes there.

Did anyone else experience any issues during the update from b16 to b17?

Hi Phil,

same issue happened to me. I missed b16 so come from b15 and tried today to update to b17.

My AudioPC runs in core mode. Running the setup shows the loading bar, next clicking C the window closes by itself, that's it. Doesn't matter if a reset by ST was done before... same result.

Right now did not try on my control PC, since I'm afraid to break my system by getting on system updated and one not.

I still run WS2012R2 on both machines.

Is there a way to get WS2016 without paying too much money? Is it worth to jump from WS2012R2 to WS2016?

Thanks
