Finally home after 24+ hours at Urgent Care followed by Children’s Hospital with a little one who got an emergency Appendectomy. Tonight will be an early night but I need this first.

As a fan of both Bob Dylan and Cat Power, and knowing this album has been out since last November, I am amazed I have not listened to it until now. But now that I did I will be buying it after I post this. It's amazing! If you dont tap your foot and turn it up, go see a Dr and make sure your heart is still pumping.

my 3 and 6 year old kids both came down to the basement and said they wanted sleep with daddy in the basement and listened to music together.

So no more Beyoncé, Rancid and Avenged Sevenfold. Cranked down the volume and played their favorite bedtime album - Diana Panton - A cheerful little earth in 2xhdd dsd 128 master. Sat in the middle and the two kids on each side of my laps.

They fell asleep within about half an hour and I carried them to their rooms. I really treasured this moment and was thrilled that they do enjoy listening to music with me… well until they don’t I guess!!!

My youngest does this from time to time as well. Insists she'll be able to stay wake and listen and inevitably falls back asleep soon.

In honor of my Dad who passed away 2 days ago after a hard battle with complications from Covid, I am listening to some of his favorite albums tonight including this one. I have mentioned this before I think, but Leigh Kamman used to play excerpts from this wonderful and beautiful album in the background during his Saturday evening show on Minnesota Public Radio called The Jazz Image and my Dad and I would listen to that almost every Saturday evening, including once all the way up on Isle Royale on our boat when we were lucky enough to be able to receive the signal. We both fell asleep with the radio going and by the next morning the batteries were dead and if not for a fortuitous stop by some Park Rangers who happened to have some really long jumper cables, we would have been in for a bit of a hike to get help.
