Popular Post ted_b
It's very good. Steve Wilson (and a handful of other mixers, so far about ten of them IMHO..,but more being discovered every month) seems to know the subtle differences between ping pong surround effects and true immersion! When done right, the overall sonic picture tells its own story. The heights and tops are used seamlessly to portray a up-til-now-thought-to-be-unnecessary 3rd dimension. Never heard this album like this! 😎 The Computer Audiophile, Superdad and TubeLover 1 2 "We're all bozos on this bus"....F.T. Quad 405
I was lucky enough to get a ticket for the Pitch Black Playback event featuring Porcupine Tree - Closure / Continuation at the L-Acoustics Creations studio in Highgate London in August last year. It was timed around the launch of the album and apparently Steven Wilson came over to sound check it. The folks at L-Acoustics were available to talk to afterwards about the system used. Here is a url to the "Ocean" system that we listened to. https://creations.l-acoustics.com/sound-space/ocean/ I can't make the King Crimson event but hoping that those that go have an awesome experience.
