I've seen the schematic online; was wondering if anyone here has built it (can post in another thread if a digression)

The insulation and layout constraints because of the lethal (1200V+) voltages inside mean this isn't a project for any but the most skilled - or foolhardy - DIYer.

I'm sure most people knew that, but....

You've probably underestimated the experts hanging out here on AS. Question: Where would one source all the heavy duty silver for a DIY Ongaku project? Or are those just audiophile bling and can be skipped?

[...] I'm not sure that silver is required.  This is an ultimate Japanese product, so they typically go all out in every factor (not just for audio).  They do (or did) sell various parts for people who want to DIY.

Thanks for the clarification. But isn't the Ongaku only like mid-tier in the Kondo line up, and the heavy silver stuff goes almost all the way to the bottom tier? And Kondo isn't even the craziest of the Japanese manufacturers. Look at the top tier Zanden that's only known by Kanji names 仁風 🠖 宙光 🠖 長空 /火雲 O.o  As for making parts available, isn't that from Audio Note UK, which was split from Kondo in a brutal fight and was declared to have nothing to do with Kondo?

The full Kondo lineup is on their website, so there is no point in explaining here.

Yes, Audio Note UK is the shop that has components. I don't think you can buy all of the pieces to make an Ongaku or similar.

NUC10i7 + Roon ROCK > dCS Rossini APEX DAC + dCS Rossini Master Clock

SME 20/3 + SME V + Dynavector XV-1s or ANUK IO Gold > vdH The Grail or Kondo KSL-SFz + ANK L3 Phono

Audio Note Kondo Ongaku > Avantgarde Duo Mezzo

Signal cables: Kondo Silver, Crystal Cable phono

Power cables: Kondo, Shunyata, van den Hul

Haven't finished watching the video, but one thing I noticed, which I will mention, if I may ... I would never, never, coil up the speaker cable like you have on one side - for me, it would kill the quality, stone dead. With your highly specialised amplifier it may not in fact be an issue - but I would certainly not have this on my own system.

I thought about that, but the inductance from that is minimal. There is so much detail like that that I am willing to deal with... :)

For an experiment, I would, temporarily, uncoil that cable, and have it follow a path on the floor that mimics that of the other side - say, have it go out into the room so that it has largely a path with minimal curves, and doesn't cross over, or lie adjacent to itself at any point. Yes, unsightly, but it's purely an exercise to see if it makes an audible difference ...

@miguelito Congratulations on having such a beautiful home & audio system. Most importantly for me was seeing how engaged you are with listening to music, after all that’s what it’s all about....

It’s nice to see another member using Symposium platforms! like myself I use them in my whole system to great affect. I actually use Symposium Rollerblocks under the symposium platforms for my speakers.

As I write this post I was saying to myself; We/I spend so much time reading through audiophile forums on a daily basis, so seeing a video with fellow audiophile is so refreshing.

Thanks again
