A $325 ISO-R price tag is significantly different than the $655 bundle with LPS-1. In the real world we call this "bait and switch." emailtim and plissken 2 Link to comment

From measurements perspective, the measurements should be focused on quantifying the USB signal quality differences at both ends of the device. By that logic, the green pens for painting CD edges should be judged solely by their ability to paint the CD edges green. Since they clearly do paint CD edges green, this is all the proof we need that they work exactly as advertised. Dr Tone, esldude, pkane2001 and 1 other 3 1 Link to comment

I'd say it's more like faulting someone for selling an expensive water filter that makes clean water taste worse and does nothing to filthy water while a cheap filter from Walmart renders the filthy water quite drinkable. esldude, lucretius, emailtim and 1 other 3 1 Link to comment

What else has been tried? Perhaps the proper solution with the Modi 2 is to buy a different DAC. You can get a respectable DAC for the price of the Regen alone. esldude 1 Link to comment

That was his JOB> And he was specifically directed to this other things which failed to do DIRECTLY by Bill Gates..with BIllions at his disposal. 99.9999% of the others did not have a MS Warchest. No character assassination. That is Amir's job. All in the public record. What Amir did or didn't achieve at Microsoft is utterly beside the point. He set up a measurement and published both the details of the setup and the results. The relevance of this test has nothing whatsoever to do with his success at competing with Apple. Lots of good engineers are terrible businessmen, and vice versa. I don't know Amir and can't judge his skills in either area, but the test results he presented are in no way dependent on his personal success at anything. They showed a detrimental effect of the Regen device in a specific configuration. If someone takes issue with this, the proper response would be to replicate the setup and demonstrate a different outcome. Lambasting him for failing to be Jesus is pretty much the definition of character assassination. Even Alex has conceded that Amir's results are probably accurate. The matter is settled. Move on. plissken, pkane2001, esldude and 2 others 4 1 Link to comment
