jhwalker
I remember this build from your first article - great to see it's holding up well, as expected. I've recently "completed" my outdoor system with a pair of Sonos Moves - I keep them just inside the door leading to the patio, and grab them on my way out. Always charged and ready to go, no wires, no muss. Though I'm sure yours sounds better ;) John Walker - IT Executive Headphone - SonicTransporter i9 running Roon Server > Netgear Orbi > Blue Jeans Cable Ethernet > mRendu Roon endpoint > Topping D90 > Topping A90d > Dan Clark Expanse / HiFiMan H6SE v2 / HiFiman Arya Stealth Home Theater / Music -SonicTransporter i9 running Roon Server > Netgear Orbi > Blue Jeans Cable HDMI > Denon X3700h > Anthem Amp for front channels > Revel F208-based 5.2.4 Atmos speaker system Link to comment

JoeWhip
Chris, you have some big hostas. Must be all that high northern sun! Oh and not as many deer as here. I have to spray mu hostas once every two weeks! Well done! The Computer Audiophile 1 Link to comment
PYP
nice update, but I don't see any mention of the relationship between the genre of the music played and the egg count. 😚 You certainly did your homework (and all that backbreaking digging) and got a great long-term result. Congratulations! The chickens look healthy and purposeful too. Congratulations! The chickens look healthy and purposeful too. Thanks for the kind words @PYP The chickens have really egg-clectic taste in music :~) I really should do more homework to see if there's a correlation between style of music and egg production. Somehow, I don't think I can overcome Mother Nature and evolution. The more sun we have, the more eggs are laid. Having chickens has been such a joy. I sit in the backyard with the music on and just watch the chickens peck/scratch around, chase bugs in the yard, and sing egg songs after laying eggs. Listening to music in other environments has its own set of joys. I never expected to love it as much as I do, but I'm happy to report that it's incredibly satisfying. jhwalker and PYP 2 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

I thoroughly enjoy when the weather is mild and we can open all the windows and doors while listening to music (as long as the neighbors aren't blowing leaves/nailing roof tiles, etc. outside). Or sit on the patio with sliding doors open (and music not too loud). Temporal_Dissident
Great update. A few questions: 1. Apple via BlueSound? BlueOS still lacks native support for Apple Music, correct? You have to play from your iOS device, using Airplay? 2. Atmos You mention the capabilities of the PowerNode, but not the speaker config. Are you saying you want to play Atmos on what is essentially a 2.0 system? Or you want the capability so you can add more speakers? 3. Sub Have you ever wanted a sub? One of those buried, mushroom types? I know you want an excuse to do more digging ;-/ Roon > dCS Bartok > Parasound JC 2BP > Parasound JC 5 > Wilson Yvette Technics SL-1200G & Bluesound Node > Luxman L-590axII > OJAS Bookshelf w/ Tweeter Horn Mod Link to comment

Sonos of course has it, but others have to use the SDK lossy implementation. There is talk of this changing though. Atmos playback on two channels is what I’m talking about for this system. I have hundreds of favorited Atmos albums in my libraries. Some of the two channel mixes are great. It would be nice to have the option to hear them. A sub would be really cool, especially on a weekend like this when the neighbors on both sides are out of town. I’m cranking Pearl Jam out of all four speakers right now in the backyard :~) Feel free to stop by and do the digging for me though :~) Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

It’s 93° out there. Three of them were vying for the same nest box to lay eggs, while four other boxes were wide open. I may put the coop window air conditioner in, but I rigged a nice fan system to cool them down while laying eggs in the meantime. Got to keep egg production up :~) PYP 1 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
