sphinxsix
Glad I saw a couple of good concerts right before it all started - Marcin Wasilewski Trio, Igor Levitt, Layla Zoe (25 people present at the gig made me think of many things but surprisingly not about the virus ). Have lots of free time now, exploring new music has been taking even more time during the last month than listening to it (time for this will come).. I have an impression you don't quite understand this piece Pandemic listening (I'd highly recommend washing hands before and after the listening session): Link to comment

sphinxsix
Surprisingly The Chick Corea Trio (with Brian Blade and Christian McBride) today concert in Concertgebouw in Amsterdam hasn't been cancelled and there are still tickets available (including 2 seats in the very center of the 2nd row!). I would go if it wasn't for the fact that I'm not a big CC fan.. Wish this was Keith Jarrett.. I'm surprised because 'all museums, theaters, and other buildings and events that receive large numbers of visitors (100+) are closed' in the Netherlands Link to comment

But I think I could almost play it (in particular the first part seems not that complicated), despite the fact that I don't play piano Long time no see, good to see you back! Link to comment
sphinxsix
Thank you @yamamoto2002-shi and @accwai-shi for your deep analysis of this piece. Here's some practical demonstration. A pretty good performance, I hope you will agree.. Link to comment

As for the tempo..I really don't know.. do you think this performance is better.? (for me personally it's a little too romantic, I also have some doubts as far as the pianist's use of the pedal is regarded) This one is very expressive! (but unfortunately a little careless technically..) BTW according to the Mayo Clinic, laughter triggers the release of endorphins, it helps people handle stress by easing tension, relaxing the muscles and lowering blood pressure (high blood pressure os one of the main risk factors in case of the coronavirus), it also increases the number immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving our resistance to a disease! If you think I underestimate the danger connected with COVID-19, you are wrong. But I'm also against the expressions of panic that we often see nowadays. E.g. we need to understand the simple fact that if one person decides to buy 20 packs of spaghetti and to stuff 20 loafs of bread into his freezer, another person may have no possibility of buying them at all, which happened to me a couple of days ago - I visited 2 supermarkets and 2 smaller grocery stores and didn't get all I needed. I admit had to struggle a little bit to do just a normal, regular shopping but I did it because such should be IMO responsible, adult behavior in circumstances like these. I'm not even mentioning safety measures connected directly with the spreading of the virus. BTW I'm really amazed by a really responsible reaction of the Dutch society to the situation connected with coronavirus. Of course people keep more physical distance to each other which is absolutely necessary, the streets are half empty and the atmosphere is a little depressed but at the same time there is a very distinct kind of 'we are in it together and we must deal with the situation together' spirit in the air. Which is absolutely great! IMO this may even be one of the most important lessons we've learned in these hard times. BTW the choice of goods in grocery shops is almost normal now.. 12 hours ago, sphinxsix said: In fact none of us will, it's only a question of time This was a joke but actually with a quite serious allusion to the fact that for most of us the 'final fact of life' topic is still something we are not very comfortable with. But this is probably not the right place to discuss it, I agree with that. 5 hours ago, hopkins said: P.S. Archimago - stick to posting about Audio rather than spreading your fallacies about Covid, or at least, stick to doing it on your website. As for Archimago posting on this topic here, I'm ok with that. Wishing you lots of peace.
