At no point in my time knowing him has Larry ever laughed or made light of the campaign issues or money issues. As I pointed out in the screenshot to Bill (who WAS laughing), no one else besides (apparently) Bill think anything about this is humorous. In fact, on MULTIPLE occasions, Larry has expressed a lot of distress over the matter. 

 

Larry, has, however, struggled with the English language and uses broken English and perhaps "wrong" words to formulate his thoughts on a frequent basis. (or used words which the internet people can jump to twist out of context unfairly and maliciously)

 

 

Actually, there really does seem to be "one grand reason" and it keeps popping up all over the place "never got finished because of the funding issues"

 

Seems like whenever a project was failing a new one was created to help generate funds....that old spreadsheet of the history of LHL is quite a read.

These are 3 updates on the Wave that the community has been discussing over the past week. They were posted over at IGG and people have been commenting on them there and around the various internet forums.

 

@bc2112 aptX is a big deal to those who paid for it to be included on their Waves.

 

It won't matter if there are no waves.  In typical LH fashion, getting stuck in the weeds instead of getting a unit out. Is the case 3d printed?

I had started to think Vi Dac was perhaps a figment of Larry's imagination, but no. So they can be built!

 

No ongoing development required. Then where are the rest?

 

Who cares if they can be built? It only matters if they can be produced. LHL has no money. Jarek has said IGG items will only be produced if funds are provided by Light Harmonic. There are no funds for production because LHL blew all the interest-free loans they got from IGG (we backers) on who-knows-what. It is a total train wreck.

I won't. The plan sponsors (IGG, etc) could care less what happens once the money is in. If there was some sort of escrow/insurance then maybe. But for now, I think everyone should assume that any money they put up will be lost. If you have that mindset then no big deal...but I won't be back unless there are some consumer protection measures in place to protect backers from BOTH the sponsors and creators.

 

I ended up getting the FiiO M11 Plus LTD, which blows away anything the Wave would have been.

Again, with the right mindset, crowd funding could be good for you. But NO MATTER WHAT, you should go in expecting to lose whatever you contribute. If a person is ok with that, then cool. The plan sponsors love it because it is easy money...just like multi-level marketing!

The "cease and desist" thing is grossly ironic, as Gavin tried to shut me up in person with (what I recall were) vague legal threats when I started telling people that there were major red flags with what was going on at LH Labs. This is the problem with crowd funding. Someone can raise millions, millions, and even more millions and they are not accountable to anyone. There is all talk from the sponsors about making sure backers get their stuff but it means nothing. IGG even says:

 

"you should work directly with the campaign owner to resolve the refund request and method of refund."

 

No accountability and no consumer protection. As we have all learned by now, only put as much money into crowd funding as you can afford to lose; always assume your money will be lost.

Jarek has already said in this thread that everyone else has "moved on".

 

There is nobody doing anything for LHLabs anymore. I doubt even he (the now Lawrence Hope) is doing anything. His "hope" is just to stay out of the light on this. "Out of sight out of mind"...or in his case "Out of sight out of money".
