So, was that piece an advertorial? Check out the TAS email that was just sent. Sponsored by MQA.

I would think so. That means he needs to put a disclaimer on the editorial (that MQA is a sponsor of TAS).

I started something on that editorial.. 4 responses, 4 anti-MQA ones at that.

I am fighting the good fight in that discussion. I expect to be banned, eventually.

I have to wonder if that was a last gasp or if it was preparation for the next round.  MQA is like the energizer bunny.

I guess we will have a better idea by the end of this month.

I just happened to be in room 6117 at 11. @Rt66indierock was also there. Ken from MQA was in the back.

But, for some reason the MQA presentation didn’t happen.

I talked a bit with Lee Scoggins this afternoon. I explained to him just because you have heard something from a what appears to be a reliable source doesn’t make it true. Especially when the person is saying the opposite in court filings.

Well, it is called Spin. A pic of the Spinmaster

What he knows and what is really going on are probably two different things.

None, I hope. The algorithms they use (BLAKE2s and RSA) are regarded as secure.

RSA has been hacked many times. Here is one - https://www.darkreading.com/attacks-breaches/china-hacked-rsa-us-official-says/d/d-id/1137409

Blake2 not yet from a small query.

That article is about an attack on the SecurID token generator sold by the company confusingly called RSA. It has nothing to do with the RSA public-key encryption algorithm.

There has been hacks on RSA (short keys but still). With Quantum computing, it has been stated that RSA will be useless.

Anything more efficient than brute force?

Quantum computing isn't anywhere close to being useful.

There are several algorithms that seem to be useful, yes.

That seems to require a quantum computer that doesn't exist.

No just a fast PC - like the new Ryzen with the expensive GPU that can be used for calculations

Are you seriously suggesting that there exists a practical attack on RSA with a key length of 2048 bits or more? On a PC at that. You're either mistaken or trolling.

I really don't know how to troll - seriously. It is basic brute force.

All y’all gotta get on the bandwagon at some point.....

“Hideo Irimajiri, senior expert, engineering division and project lead at WOWOW, added, “We’ve been conducting these trials with a view to integrating MQA into our services in the future, including on-demand and live broadcasting.  It makes no sense that audio quality still lags behind, while video is achieving higher definition with 4k and 8k resolution display.“

We can already do 96/24 ATMOS without MQA. I mwan you can get 4K with ATMOS off of Amazon Prime, for example 'Man in the High Castle'. Why would we want a lossy compression system? Just to please Mr. Stuart? Sorry, no, MQA is dead. You are doing the below.

We are seeing what happens to a startup prematurely scales before they get the product/market fit.

Well, actual marketing research and an understanding of the market as it is, not as it was.

I worked for a company that built an amazing cell counter/sorter but they didn't actually research anything in the market, they just built it and were surprised that the market wouldn't pay 10X more for their instrument. This is the same thing MQA did.
