damien78
Hi b4sound, It is not controversial in anyway, it is just that the changelog web page that is loaded when you get notification of a new release, loads the "donate" button image from the paypal site. After, it's only up to you to click on it... b4sound
Damien Thank you for the prompt response and in good faith i have just made a small contribution via paypal. Audirvana is a very nice player indeed. If you accept suggestions, I would really like two features (not sure if it has been mentioned as i have not had time to browse this entire thread): 1/ the ability to use the audio buttons on the keyboard ie backward / play / forward (it seems iTunes is still 'hogging' these buttons on my keyboard 2/ a remote app for iPhone / iPad / iTouch (and would be happy to make another small contribution otherwise you may consider charging for the app but perhaps against your principles! . ) Mac Mini (Audirvana) > Audiophilleo2 > Cyrus DAC XP+ (PSX-R) > Cyrus Mono X > Dynaudio Confidence C1 Link to comment
damien78
Thanks for your contribution! Regarding the keyboard buttons, Audirvana, as other media apps (e.g. VLC, Spotify, iTunes) plays nice with each others by letting the application that was the last one to have the user focus use the media keys. So if you have iTunes in front, iTunes gets the media keys. BTW, you can completely deactivate Audirvana use of media keys in user prefs. The remote app is in long term plans. In the meantime, Bill Scott has written a script to link Audirvana with iTunes and Remote. b4sound
Hi Damien My audio buttons even starts up iTunes (I have switched off iTunes to open at Login). Maybe iTunes is not playing so nice I am so blind - didn't notice the Media Keyboard checkboxes but they were already turned on. Not sure why my Logitech keyboard keeps activating iTunes then. damien78
Do you have any drivers installed to get the logitech keyboard to get its media keys used ? having a logitech and not an apple keyboard may be the reason ? b4sound
Thanks Damien... I may have to invest in a MAC compliant KB... Mac Mini (Audirvana) > Audiophilleo2 > Cyrus DAC XP+ (PSX-R) > Cyrus Mono X > Dynaudio Confidence C1 Link to comment
wgscott
Apple's Keyboards, including laptop keyboards, appear to hard-wire the launch iTunes button to the play button. They also do not seem to provide a way to over-ride this feature. Link to comment

elcorso
This was set pre Bin-Laden death, Damien you can now remove this! wgscott is joking, since Audirvana see your NAS as an external server. b4sound
Thanks for this but I am technically challenged... My NAS is connected to the router via ethernet and is assigned a static IP. I have tried a few of the options (attached) but keep getting this error: Another device on the network is using your computer's IP address (192.168.0.99) which is the static IP assigned to the NAS. az
Damien, Thanks for this great program. A stupid question: Does it play the hi-resolution file in 192K? Regards, Alphe AZ Link to comment
damien78
@b4sound: It is most likely your MAC is getting its IP address dynamically from your router (DHCP server feature). And the IP of your NAS is in the "assignable" range of address for DHCP. Thus your mac is assigned by the router an address that is the same as your NAS. Take a look at your router configuration and either: 1) Move the DHCP range outside of 192.168.0.99 2) Change your NAS address to one outside of the DHCP addresses range @az: a definitive YES. Audirvana could even play 768kHz files, or even more if you DAC supports it! BTW, I got reports the M2Tech Young plays well at 384kHz with Audirvana. b4sound
Damien Thanks for this response but my lack of understanding of all things IP is really not helping... My router default DHCP range is from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254 in which I have tried: 1/ Assigning the NAS with 192.168.0.255 and also 192.168.0.299 (both said the IP is invalid) 2/ Left the reserved IP of the NAS as 192.168.0.99 then changed the END range of the DHCP from 254 to 90 (i.e. 192.168.0.90) which means the NAS reserved IP is outside of the DHCP range. This didn't error out but if I tried to 'edit' the NAS reserved IP and hit apply, it gave a different error (something about not permitted IP). Regardless, I rebooted both the Mac Mini and NAS and was still getting the error when adding files to the playlist. Audirvana still works so its not a big deal. Note I have changed the range of the DHCP back to original default. Mac Mini (Audirvana) > Audiophilleo2 > Cyrus DAC XP+ (PSX-R) > Cyrus Mono X > Dynaudio Confidence C1 Link to comment
