socks mk2 Posted November 25, 2016 Share Posted November 25, 2016 Unless you live in China or South Korea, the only place to pre-order an X-Sabre Pro is from Matrix Audio X-SABRE Pro Their matrix parent site redirects to that URL if you click on the X-Sabre Pro image. Might I add that it's currently discounted for any/all pre-orders. As far as I know, pre-orders for the X-Sabre Pro are limited to 100 units. After that the price will go back to MSRP. The Burras Posted January 15, 2017 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Many Thursdays have passed... indeed, and not had lots of opportunities to listen, so it has been on a source loop and listening to telly of an evening up till now I am generally happy with it, but from recent memory its not quite same performance as my Vega/Taurus setup, some more running in may help. Also I have no access to ultra high def material where I would expect it to perform better. Having also recently moved house, I have most likely lost some perspective for comparative testing. perhaps better waiting for a more appropriate review from another source in meantime. I'm looking at the Holo Spring or this Dac. The x-Sabre does have two good things its a preamp and it can take PCM upsamples to 768. 'The Burras' has owned one since January, he could offer an overview of the sound. Link to comment
MINORISUKE Posted June 13, 2017 Share Posted June 13, 2017 While playing 44.1kHz/16-bit from the optical input, the DAC locked up and I had to pull out the power cable. I have been using only I2S and have not encountered such an issue yet. Link to comment
