I agree that this method of sorting is really nice. In a way, it's like sorting an album by track number. nobody would think of NOT sorting by track number. Albums usually show an artists progression through one's career and people are used to the flow from one album to the next when browsing. Using alphabetical is logical, but not for something like art that is released in a sequence and often the art references moments in time around when it was created. 

 

I would love this to be added to aurender. I believe the issue is making sure the date tags are correct. However, if users are given the choice for sorting, if they didn't have date tags they wouldn't have to use this method. Or, they could add the tags.

I have many albums on an Aurender that use my custom album art. This isn't an issue.

I would love if Aurender offered a status bar or some additional information when copying music from a USB drive to the internal drive(s). Currently this copy ha been going fir a while, but I have no clue if it's stuck on 50% to chugging along.

It just uses whatever metadata is tagged in the "YEAR" or "DATE" field to sort by what Aurender calls "album year":

@The Computer Audiophile yes, I agree the reporting there leaves a lot to be desired! For what it's worth, it's much better if you use the "smart copy" option from Folder view:

• "Smart Copy" from USB instructions
• "Smart Copy" from NAS instructions

And of course it is WAY way better on the ACS Manager app with the "Copy/Move/Delete" utility. But, not everyone has an ACS to play with, unfortunately!

I like JRiver Media Center. I like Aurender Conductor. I wouldn’t like JRMC running on an Aurender server.

I have to say, I really enjoy the Aurender app for iPhone. Using it with a new N20 that I put an SSD into. Great stuff all around.

I can't tell you how enjoyable this is. Connect the N20 directly to my Constellation Audio preamp via USB, and I have full control over the preamp. I'm using AES output to a DAC, but USB for command and control. Fantastic.

P.S. If I had a convolution engine for my room correction filters, in the N20 or separate box, all would be right in the world :~)

Hi @AriMargolis, I just noticed an issue with the iPhone app. When I tap on the volume “button” the app crashes. Here’s a video of it. 
 

Volume works great on the iPad with Constellation preamp.

Hi @AriMargolis I found a strange issue on the N20 that I can duplicate 100% of the time. 

 

Using the Stone Temple Pilots album Core from Qobuz, if I click replace queue, the N20 doesn't play the very start of the track. Part of the first second is missed. If I click the first track in the queue, it plays just fine. Switching back and forth between the Replace Queue button and just clicking the first track in the queue, reproduces the behavior 100% of the time.

Yes, STP Core is a fantastic album!

 

I'm outputting via USB to an Auralic Sirius Upsampler, then out from that via USB to a Denafrips Terminator.

Hi @AriMargolis I can reproduce the issue using this one track as well. Replace queue and I miss the first part of the track. Just click on the track in the queue it's fine.

Also, I just discovered it doesn't happen if I select the track within the album, then select Play Now. It's only the Replace Queue action that causes the issue.

As is my habit lately, I turned to the Paul Galbraith recording of Bach’s lute suites and pressed “play.” I hardly know what say.  The sound was so grippingly beautiful, I held my face in my hands.  Why is it the some nights are this way.  Was the grid especially clean?  I have no idea, but I do know what heard, and it makes everything we go through worth, and easily so.  

 

 

 

I've had this happen to me as well. It's stunning when it happens and creates memories we never forget. These days/evenings make our investments all worth it.

Not sure if anyone else has this "issue" but I'll post it anyway. I'd love for the person tabs in Qobuz to be accessible without scrolling. When I use Qobuz, I frequently go to the stuff I purchased or have in my favorites. I really don't care about many of the other tabs. 

 

Perhaps the ability to drag and drop the tabs to reorder them would be even better :~)

The A10 is a great piece, but those looking to upgrade to something like a dCS Rossini or Moon 750D will definitely take their systems to the next level. If I was talking to a friend about this type of upgrade, I'd tell him to keep the A10 as the digital source feeding a new DAC. This is step one. If it sounds perfect with the A10 and new DAC, then stop there. If he wants to take it to another level again, then look at upgrading the Aurender. Take this one step at a time. The performance can be maximized this way, versus trying to upgrade both pieces at the same time. Heck, one someone has a dCS unit they can consider a W20 / W20SE with clock input being fed by a dCS DAC.
