Which DAC to buy for my AudioEngine A5+ speakers?
ahmed98 posted a topic in Headphones & SpeakersI have my AudioEngine A5+ speakers with Yamaha YST-SW515 connected to the default sound card of my pc. I want to use an external DAC to play FLAC or DSD HiRes audio. From the options below, which do you suggest? My budget is below $150! AUDIOENGINE DAC AND ACCESSORIES NOT AVAILABLE IN MY COUNTRY AS OF NOW SO THAT'S NOT AN OPTION! Picks FiiO K3 SMSL M6 XDUOO XP-2 😊

Managing FLAC files with Roon and FiiO Player
thrak posted a topic in General ForumEver since abandoning the Apple iTunes/iPod world for a FiiO X5 and Roon life has been a heckuva lot better. I use a MacMini as a media server with Plex and Roon. The only hole is this nirvana is managing the files that I'd like to copy to my FiiO when I travel. In short... is there a Mac OS app that will catalog my music directories or (even better) read my Roon database and allow me to do iTunes-ish things when copying music to my FiiO? How do I come close to the iPod/iTunes experience with Roon (or a directory of FLAC, WAV, DSF files) and my FiiO? Thanks, Adam
upgrade Big upgrade from FiiO E10 (not K)
Rockfella posted a topic in DAC - Digital to Analog ConversionHi all, Just looking forward to spend max $150 if I get a DAC/Amp to get better sound from Audio Technica M40x. I currently use FiiO E10. Please throw some suggestions. Regards.
Hi folks! First of all sorry for my English....I'm Italian, and I'll do my best to explain properly my problem. My iPod classic just died after many years I was using it, so I decided to upgrade my experience and buy a new music player, choosing a Fiio X3 Mark III F. I still not have this device in my hands, so I still don't know the way to add music in it.... My problem is my previous library: I used to synchronize my old iPod through iTunes, and I've organized all my songs by Artist, Album, Genre, etc.... I assume that, if I simply will use the songs in the iTunes media folder, I'll loose all these metadata (artist, album, genre, track number, reproductions, etc....) How can I reach the point to have the same songs organization on my new device? Or a new library that works out of iTunes with the same metadata for each song? I hope that is clear enough...again sorry for my English! Cheers, Fabio

Pono World +Fiio X3 2nd gen?
vmartell22 posted a topic in SoftwareRecently acquired Fiio X3 2nd gen - looks pretty good, however, having a hard time finding a music library manager that will sync - itunes, of course does not work with it directly, doubleTwist, for whatever reason fails to sync some files, iSyncr wants an android device... so on... also, running on mac, so what seems to be the best option, MediaMonkey is not available... Apparently, looks like Pono World could work - recognizes the device and attempts to transfer - however, before putting in the work, wanted to get your opinion and/or experience if you have tried and/or done it. (yes - copying files with the os file manager works to the sd card works, however, the music library interface seems more convenient - easy selection, space calculations, etc) thnx in advance! :-) v
FiiO EM3 Stereo Earbuds (not IEM) Earphone review
dalethorn posted a topic in Headphones & SpeakersThis is an earbud, so the expectations will be low. The tonality is definitely better than the Apple earbuds (not earpods), but not as good as the Yuin PK2 (and likely the PK1). I wouldn't be inclined to review an earbud as-is, but with the magic of parametric EQ, it sounds very hi-fi except for the deep bass, which can't be recovered any way that I know.
