They chose to do digital capture*(??) and mastering in DSD256. Instead of for instance 192/24 which is used to produce the files for many SACD. Quote *We will be offering many of our popular titles and new releases available in Quad DSD (DSD256) With a resolution up to 256 times better than CD, your ears will immediately realize the full potential of your playback system. DSD256 is the highest audio resolution format available today. Note: DSD has limited editing capabilities. To keep it pure DSD with no PCM used, I had to allow some blemishes to remain from the original tape source that would be normally edited out in a PCM release. Remastered using the Merging Pyramix Workstation THERE IS REALLY NO OTHER AUDIO FORMAT LIKE IT!! AudioDoctor 1 Link to comment
rando
@pdvm Please suggest a recording of this composition you would rate highly*. Went from thrilled at seeing Bottesini, to noticing it was a competition (dry technical perfection), back to enjoyment. A few concerns per her stature imposing physical limitations did crop up in technical sections [03:22]. As a student her technique is quite impressive and unique. Excels and only rarely falls to the level of overcoming when listening with ears instead of eyes. Thank you (a second time) for posting this. *Loose request, far from complaint or insistence. I do as well. New works written for MS in this form would be equally welcome. 40% capacity audiences (and stages) could favor this type of arrangement sonically. Link to comment

First, it wasn't even my post. Second I forgot to add the link that made sense of my comment to @semente. Edit: Internal links to specific posts are awful here now. Second post down is the horrorshow. semente and christopher3393 2 Link to comment
