 I fail to see why we should need to do that in a forum area that should no longer be needed given that those who most contributed to the demand for this separate forum area are no longer here, when Chris has given stern warnings that this kind of behaviour will no longer be tolerated from any member (myself included) , and that we must abide by the forum rules, which includes not posting in a thread where you know that your type of reply is not wanted by the OP. 

 I don't like the idea of Paul , Dennis etc. feeling that their input is no longer valued here.

 I noticed the same too. It's as if people feel the need to post there instead of ,say, the General Forum area in order to hear the other side of the discussion. The OP of a thread should make clear the direction he wishes his thread to take if it's not meant to be a general discussion involving both camps.

 No Dennis, you aren't a jerk, you aren't crazy, and I for one value your input although I don't always agree with it.

 On occasions, it has made me do additional research in some areas, and we are both on friendly terms.

So I don't see how you can make your claim that objectivists could investigate equipment interactions or electrical "gremlins" but don't holds any water.

 This is a hobby, and people get their enjoyment in various ways, including both measuring, and simply enjoying equipment that sounds good to them.

 Having said this, I am MAINLY in agreement about what you were saying about those particular Oppo Mods, and any equipment that isn't dead quiet directly in front of the speakers. Yes, I also prefer the best measurements possible, but I only use them as a guide.

 It appears to be very little different, except that it is no longer in the General area of the forum. The same type of non Objective posts  as what supposedly caused the original problems , and not just from Frank.

That is the basic problem here. Some Engineers believe that they are infallible in their areas of training and expertise.

 This applies to all aspects of Engineering where we occasionally see loss of life where some minor detail has been overlooked, even by Inspectors and Government Regulators who are entrusted to check that the equipment  or design is as safe as humanly possible .

That's not to say that Engineers overall don't do  a fantastic job.

 That may not be necessarily correct unless they used the 16/44.1 recording to create the 5.1 version?

You already have a new special area where you can post your Objective viewpoints and Data without interference from Subjective members, and even demand that they be banned from participating in that area as I have effectively been.

Perhaps Subjective members should also be given the privilege of a special area where Objective demands are not welcome either?.

 

 However this is not what forums are meant to be about. It's about the free exchange of information and experiences that help to improve this hobby !!!
