How do you install Kernel 6.7.6?

I see it on the list and choose it.  It seems to go through the motions and then, doing a check of the Home System, there has been no upgrade at all

Here the first portion of the Home System

image.png.53b862bf65cd698273a78e679a84c284.png

you must first go to update/install/remove and in kernel New select the new kernel and wait for it to complete the installation (5min). Next you select the version of this kernel that you like the most.

Yes, did exactly that

But looking at Home System, I would expect it to show 6.7.6 and not 6.6.2.  Or am I mistaken?

Hello All,

My first kernel test and approval was :

Target : 6.7.6-ULTRA-EUP-RCU-CLTO-TEST+

Host : 6.7.6-RT-ULTRA-EUP-NOR-CLTO-TEST+

It's interesting to note, that on my system, before going to DIRETTA, the RT Kernels gave a too hard sound in the mids and highs.

This time it was better.

yesterday I made a test : Switching the Target/Host kernels...

The result is mostly closed to what I'm looking for : Smoothy sound, detailed, soundstage...

Clearly, really better for me, the the today config :

HOST : 6.7.6-ULTRA-EUP-RCU-CLTO-TEST+

TARGET : 6.7.6-RT-ULTRA-EUP-NOR-CLTO-TEST+

To Antonello : Why there's no, non RT EUP-NOR-CLTO kernel in the 6.7.6 kernel version?

Thanks

Once again, Antonello to the rescue (via Anydesk)

Then mistake I made was not choosing version 15 of the kernel

Much appreciated.  If you were in South Africa, I would have given you a couple of bottles of wine

Does not work like that

Click on List Kernel, this appears

Have I missed a step?

You need to select a kernel type from this list, once the system reboots, if the kernel type you've selected is compatible with 6.7.6 it will show the newly installed kernel in the system info.

No, there is no explanation, the acronyms only make sense to me when I have to compile them, nothing else, they are simply different configurations, if a user has time he tries them and chooses...
No one is better than another, it depends on the system and tastes...

How do you determine if it is compatible?

Is there an explanation of the different type of kernels that are available?

If the kernel type doesn’t work with the kernel selected, it installs a kernel that is.

For eg if I select a v6 kernel and pick any of the RT kernel types for my Pi3 it will install a v4 kernel.

You just need to try different kernel versions (5 or 6) and types (EUP, RCU, RT etc) to see what works best for your setup.

@antonellocaroli for endpoint ramdisk mode, if we want to back to normal mode we can just reboot the RPI by powering off and back on correct? Thus I don't see why do we need SSH enable for this RAM disk mode. Or there are other aspect I don't understand.

Speaker system:
