Cecile McLoran Salvant June 3rd at the Chicago Symphony Center. Saw her once before and it was, how shall I say, a religious experience. Looking forward to next week.

Saw Bob Weir & the Wolf Bros anniversary of Ace show at Radio City in NY.  If anyone isn't familiar with Bob's band, he has Don Was as his bassist, Barry Sless on pedal steel,  a brass & string section with Brian Switzer on trumpet, Adam Theis on tenor trombone, Sheldon Brown on tenor and alto saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, flute and bass flute, Mads Tolling on violin, and Alex Kelly on cello.  Just amazing.

 

Saw Jorma Kaukonen at the Old Town School of Folk Music in March.

 

So nice to be seeing live music again.

Have tickets for singer/songwriter Vienna Teng at the City Winery in December.

Just got tickets for Curtis Stigers on Nov. 27th at a theatre called Space in Evanston, ILL. It is based on tables, and we will be one table back from the stage for 35.00 USD a ticket.

 

So, the better half and I will be seeing 4 concerts in less than a month going towards Christmas. I was already told to expect a Christmas concert also. I was out of town, last year, when Jose James came to the City Winery here with his Christmas show. I was in LA.

In Feb 2023, going to see Buddy Guy as this is supposed last concert tour.

Anyone who lives near Cincinnati, OH, I suggest they look into the Music School at the University of Cincinnati. It is one of the few schools that offers classic guitar. They offer free recitals.

Saturday - Buddy Guy at the Rialto Theatre in Joliet. This will be his last tour ever, so let's go and support him.

Seeing Buddy Guy was great, listening to drunk and obnoxious audience members not so much. There were xo  many of them. Buddy Guy told the audience 4 times to "Shut the Fuck up."

 

No more blues concerts in large venues for me.

I am ecstatic - Jose James is coming to the Evanston - Space on May 4th. I missed him the last time he came around, so I am excited to see the gentleman this time.

Totally get it, Well, when Peter Gabriel was practicing his 'So' tour in the US, he did it in Rochester, NY. I lived there at the time. When my wife and I heard he was coming, we were both grad students at the time, we tried and tried. The tickets were sold out in 5 minutes. We say the announcement 1/2 after it was released.
