He worked with some fairly accomplished musicians over the years, Ritchie Blackmore, Jeff Beck, Mitch Mitchell, Noel Redding and others. (I can't make out who is actually shown in some of the clips though) Some of his political campaigns were ultimately successful too, such as lowing the voting age to 18 and allowing pubs to open in the afternoons.  And you have to respect the idea of the National Teenage Party, a political party aimed at getting votes from people not eligible to vote.

 

He sadly took his own life in 1999, but it is safe to say that his legacy UK politics is alive and well:

For some reason Frank's Status Quo track reminded me of Crass.  What is wrong with my brain?  Perhaps it's the rhythm guitar style?  Or maybe lockdown is getting to me whilst the outside world descends into chaos?  Or maybe the name Status Quo is ironic, and they were subversive anarchists all along?
