Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

copy the image to your sd card w this:

What is WinImage

You do not need internet but you do need a network (a LAN)

Excellent, I will use WinImage to install the image. Thanks for the fast reply!

For the second part, can I connect my Pi to my laptop directly with an ethernet cable? I have very little experience with networks, so I may be crazy for asking that. Will something like that work, or do I need some sort of router box to connect the two and make a network? From what I understand, I need to establish a network connection between the Pi and another device (I'm assuming my laptop would be easiest) to access the setup menu on said device via a web browser. Am I on the right track here? The issue is I don't know enough to be able to create a network between my Pi and my laptop without using an internet network.

Hi, guys. I got a shiny new Pi 3 for Christmas, and I was looking to use Moode with it. I have everything I need to set up the Pi (power cord, cables, microSD card, external hard drive, etc) and a Hifiberry DAC+ Pro. The bad news is, I have only the data on my phone (which can be a WiFi hotspot if necessary) as internet at home. I know Moode can be controlled without internet access via access point mode once it is set up, but I don't know if I can set it up without internet access.

So here are my newbie questions:

> Can I setup Moode from scratch without internet to use access point mode?

> So, um, how do I install the .img file to the microSD card? Surely I don't just copy it over, right? Is there some program I need to install the .img file to my microSD card to run Moode?

Sorry for the noob questions. I really appreciate all your help!

I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to use the AP mode to do all of the Moode set-up/configuration.

I use the free and excellent cross-platform Etcher application to flash microSD cards.

So I have written the image to the microSD card. I have the Pi attached to my monitor. I plug in the Pi to turn it on and a bunch of lines run. It asks for an SHH login and password, I use pi and raspberry respectively. Moode then appears on screen. What input do I need to give to put the Pi into Access Point mode? I can see an intermittent WiFi access point named Moode, but it disappears before I can connect properly. Also, if I don't input anything while the Pi displays the Moode screen for maybe 15 seconds, the screen goes blank and I cannot input anything else. So my big question is, how do I kick my Pi into Access Point mode? Is there some input I need to give it to do so?

I don't think you need to login with the password, I never have, just let all of the lines of code run after power up and then look for the Moode AP on your WiFi network choices.

If the Moode AP is intermittent you could have a problem with too great a distance, or interference of some kind, or a metal RPi case that lacks an opening for the board's wifi antenna thus blocking most of the signal?

Hi Folks,

Happy new year to all,

I was wondering if anyone knows that Moode can work with Korg DS-DAC-10R. The input formats are:

DSD: 2.8224MHz/5.6448MHz, 1bit PCM: 44.1kHz/48kHz/88.2kHz/96kHz/176.4kHz/192kHz, 16bit/24bit

In addition it supports DoP protocol. The device works in OSX without any additional driver.

BEST,

Hello I'm a noob and i need a bit of help:

I have Moode up and running on a pi3 via a digi+ pro dac and I am getting no audio output. I think this is due to the fact the I am getting a greyed out ALSA % box and the note "hardware volume controller not detected" .

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Happy new year!

Best,

Hi - I have encountered a strange problem. I am in the process of ripping my whole CD and SACD collection (about 5000 discs) and I am very close to the end, at around 71.000 tracks. After adding some tracks, the web browser cannot load it.

After updating the database, the Library pane remains with "LIBRARY LOADING” forever - it cannot display any list. This is with any browser I have. If I remove a few, it loads again.

Is there a solution to this? It is sort of a deal-breaker.

Hi,

You can try bumping up MPD max_output_buffer_size setting in /etc/mpd.conf. Restart MPD after making change.

Thank you for the suggestion, but it does not seem to work... I have doubled and also trebled the value. It was originally 81920, then I inserted 163840, and even 245760 - each time restarting MPD - to no improvement :-(

Hi Roberto,

I'm just guessing that the "Library not loading" symptom is due to exceeding a resource limit on the server.

There are a few other server-side settings that could be tried. They are in the file /etc/php5/fpm/php.ini

Try bumping max_execution_time and changing memory_limit to -1 (no limit), then reboot.

HI. I bumped max_execution_time to 360 (from 180) and doubled memory_limit - and this worked with the track set that failed yesterday. Thank you!

I may have to increase the limits further in the near future - I do have a second library of about 3000 jazz records and I was keeping them separate because of the limits, but now that I know how to overcome them...

Ciao a tutti

Hi Gabriele, I'm confident somebody more knowledgeable than me on NAS will be able to give you some hint on the quickest way to connect your "WD MY BOOK LIVE NAS" to Moode.

Hello everyone, I'm a new user from Italy, my nick is "Frengo" and are very fond of music (any genre as long as it feel good on my old Marantz 4140).

I'm happy to be in the forum where we can speaking directly with Tim Curtis, the Moode Developer, (I can't ask better) . So I just installed Moode on my Raspberry PI2 with HiFiberry Dac+ and I put all my CDs on an hard drive in liquid format (FLAC, SACD, DSF, DTS).

I noted that everything worked at the first shot.

I would now accompany the player with a 7-inch TFT display and an infrared remote control for a stand-alone installation on my car.

This display would be fine ?

Innolux AT070TN92 V.X AT070TN92 VX 7'' 800X480 TFT LCD Screen Display | eBay

I would like to know if exist a downloadable .img Moode file that includes the display drivers and that I can flash it on my SD card, or alternatively if someone can direct me to a simple and valid tutorial for the installation of this display and IR remote control (better if exist a way to connect also a small keypad with five buttons: Play/Pause, Stop, Next Track, Previous Track, Volume +/-).

Surely You can help me...

Have a good day and THANK YOU

Hi,

Just an FYI that Moode UI is designed for 4:3 aspect ratio (iPad, iPad mini). Displays such as 7" Raspberry Pi Touch screen are 16:10 a/r which results in Moode UI being cut off on the bottom requiring scrolling.
