New Aries wish list: SSD HD for internal storage isolated usb3.0/3.1 output faster processor DSD 512 output (don't know why just sounds cool like my chord dave) MQA (might as well just do this for bells and whistles) beefier linear power supply more refined exterior case @ what price point? pl_svn
MQA (might as well just do this for bells and whistles) means it must have an internal DAC -> No, thanks! drabbis
I'm still confused about Mqa and streamers. does the streamer need Mqa also or just the dac? Link to comment
Doak
I'm still confused about Mqa and streamers. does the streamer need Mqa also or just the dac? We've all remained confused because, IMO, the jury is STILL out on this issue. If MQA hangs tight on the DAC needing to be "compliant" then frankly it's a non-starter for many/most of us. wanta911
Current Beta Version: 4.0.Beta7 (Released on 24th August 2016) New Features since Version 4.0.Beta6: DSD to PCM resampler (disable DSD over PCM option) is now working with DSD64 (convert to 88.2K PCM). Resampling of DSD128 and DSD256 is not supported. Add multiple protection to prevent user or update procedure from bricking a unit. Fixes since Version 4.0.Beta6: Fix the issue that play a radio station may return with connection error randomly. Fix Roon RAAT memory leak by bump version to 1.1.2. Improvement since Version 4.0.Beta6: LightningServer now can recognise multichannel music files. System task optimization, may result in minor sound quality improvement under long term running. ozob
I just tried beta7 and found that the majority of radio stations I have saved, mostly old time radio from the Radio Drama list, won't play. As in beta6 an error message is displayed. All of them play with firmware 3.3. I reverted back until a better beta comes out. Link to comment

Axiom05
So what is the verdict on the memory play feature? Has anyone encountered any issues with it, e.g., dropouts, long load times, etc? mjb
So what is the verdict on the memory play feature? Has anyone encountered any issues with it, e.g., dropouts, long load times, etc? In my case much better SQ, no dropouts (but this was never an issue), and load times are not noticeably different. Very happy with the new 'feature'. Does it automaticaly use the memory play feature or do you have to choose an option to use it?Memory play is permanently enabled, there's no option to disable memory playback. Though, not sure why you'd want to other than for AxB tests. Link to comment
bmichels
How do you install 4.0 Beta ? My ARIES tells me that Firmware Is 3,3 and Is up to date. Therefore It does not propose any upgrade. Thanks Link to comment

Morph
Hello I updated to Beta 7 and now the Aries Mini no longer recognises my external DAC. I've rebooted the Mini and DAC several times, disconnected and then reconnected all cables and all I'm getting is the Aries Outputs option. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this corrected please? Link to comment
Leeuwarden
Quit the subscription to the beta firmware. Your Aries will go back to 3.3. Link to comment
