Popular Post jean-michel6
There has been many many reports and feedback on the impact of the switch in an audio system . My system is extremely sensitive as I am only playing local files with a server pc and a player / renderer which is the engineered ered dock . Therefore the switch in my system is key for good sound quality. I use to have what I did consider a good set up ( an etherregen switch , an afterdark emperor Geiseman 10mhz clock , an afterdark high quality clock cable , powered with Sean Jacobs DC3 psu ) The cost of this set up is close to 5000$ now . A little bit crazy I agree , however the price of the reference clock has significantly increased since I purchase it . I have now sold all these equipment. I would like to report on a product that really deserves recognition . The first thing I must write is that the switch I have now is significantly better than my previous set up in the area of sound quality . The main quality that our audiophile switch must have is to avoid to produce or transfer electrical noise to the audio equipment that they are connecting . In this area this new switch is really outstanding . This switch is the HNE magicnet D1 supreme . The maker has produced several different model over the last year and it seems to be now a stable product . It is made in Vietnam and must be purchased direct from the supplier ( about one month waiting time between order and delivery ) . I did paid around 1600$ and the price went up , price is now I think around 2000$ . This switch is made of very good power supplies ( 4 total , one for each part of the switch ) , a Buffalo bs gs 16 switch board , a dedicated ocxo clock , and a fiber/lan card and also for the Tesla coils ( a technology to reduce emi/rfi noise ( used also by Ansuz ) . It is very friendly and simple to use as it is a one box set up , you just need a power cord . The first things that is impressive when you use this switch is that it gives you such a black background to the music because it is so silent electrically .Comparison with my previous set up was easy and quick as it is much better than my previous set up . Since the cost is significantly less it was a very good move for sound quality of my audio system. Below is a picture of this switch , you can find better pictures on the net . I have absolutely no interest or affiliation with HNE . I am reporting this as I think this maker does deserves recognition and also this could be a very wise move for audiophile who want to improve the sq of their system . Five of my audiophile friends in france have now also purchased this switch and are happy with the results . di-fi
Hi Jean-Michel, Thank you for sharing, I totally trust your ears. Great you removed DC and clock cables and connectors and several boxes. Did you find more technical information about the switch besides the pictures I could find on the Facebook page? Do the other audiophile friends share their experiences somewhere? You are already convinced but for others this could be an interesting read about audiophile switches: https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/do-i-really-need-an-audio-grade-network-switch.34236/post-787144. jean-michel6
Hi Paul , I can give you a few details about this switch. The main duty of the switch is to transmit the musical data to the streamer with no or very little electrical pollution . This electrical pollution comes from : - the router - the power supply inside the switch - the clocks in the switch To tackle these issues the HNE has 4 very quiet power supply : - optical - rj45 conversion board - clock board - Buffalo board - Tesla coils board These power supplies are DC4 like , they are also using Tesla coil technology ( used by Ansuz ) to lower emi-rfi noise They are also using a low noise clock board To isolate the noise from the router , it is using optical board . As a result of all that the HNE switch does deliver musical data with very little noise . The background sound is much more quieter and silent with the HNE than with any other switch I used before . di-fi 1 PCserver Supermicro X11SAA under Daphile ,Jcat pcie net card ,Etherregen,e-red dock endpoint, powered by LPS 1.2 , SPS 500 , Sean Jacobs level 3 psu, DAC Audiomat Maestro 3, Nagra Classic Amp , Hattor passive preamplifier , Martin Logan montis Link to comment

Hello everyone and best wishes for 2023 I confirm the words of jean-michel6 I am as Bordeaux as him and happy owner of an switch he replaced a buffalo powered by sean jacobs DC3. the cap no longer being at the level of the switch it tests me to make the new cap disappear which is located in my opinion at the level of the ethernet cables and the jcat femto network card, a test of jcat xe soon with jean michel will remove the doubt. Thanks again to jean michel for the HNE discovery. Link to comment
