I am currently at the part of the podcast where you guys are talking about support and I can think of another company I wish had this philosophy towards customer support.

I think many people know exactly what you're saying. This is one reason why I really like to highlight when companies offer first class support. People should know they have options like this.

I enjoy your podcasts. They are the perfect company for when I take our dog out for his morning walk. I have to admit that when you do your 10 questions and identify a couple of versions for the same song, I routinely stream them later to figure out which one I prefer....it has helped to broaden my music knowledge.

A quick suggestion when visiting with manufacturers from the streaming world: Ask them which services they work with. I believe that we are no longer in the world were audiophiles have only two choices: Quobuz and Tidal. This is my way of suggesting that Amazon is becoming more of an option, but not everyone is connected to them (That is how we ended up with a Bluesound streamer instead of Innuos which was my preference)

Thanks so much for the kind words and suggestions. Much appreciated.

Is there anyone you’d like me to get on the show?

Hi Chris,

Nice interview!

I have never seem a thorough analysis/test of what matters when you're using a server to stream over the network, and what servers do this best.

Specifically of interest to me: What servers running Roon core and sending data to a streamer/DAC OVER THE NETWORK sound the best? Does it make any difference if we use a cheap vs an audiophile server in this situation? What other components matter?

NUC10i7 + Roon ROCK > dCS Rossini APEX DAC + dCS Rossini Master Clock

SME 20/3 + SME V + Dynavector XV-1s or ANUK IO Gold > vdH The Grail or Kondo KSL-SFz + ANK L3 Phono

Audio Note Kondo Ongaku > Avantgarde Duo Mezzo

Signal cables: Kondo Silver, Crystal Cable phono

Power cables: Kondo, Shunyata, van den Hul

I agree, this interests me also.

I have seen comments from Miska that state quite clearly that when using HQPlayer NAA, the server makes zero difference to sound quality, as long as it has sufficient processing power for error free processing.  Others have said similar for Ethernet streaming in general.  With that said, there are many that would disagree with this, and there are very many posts on this forum that attest to this.

So yes, some thorough analysis and testing would be great.

Another great interview I have to say.

The customer service aspects certainly come shining though on this one.  Plus, I am almost tempted to buy an Innuos just for how it covers CD ripping.  Sometimes these little things make all the difference.

I am also ashamed to say that I too would fail to answer some of the questions at the end, even though there are "no wrong answerers."  Unless "I have no idea what you are talking about, I have not heard either of these" does actually count as a correct answer.

So much to listen too, so little time.....

Great interview!

And from a journalistic approach, quite a bit of news there... I was delighted to hear Innuos are considering coming out with a dedicated router.

Also, as a musician, the appreciation was nice for a change.

Maybe it's hard for someone to grasp, but "musician" seemed to be somewhat of a swear word in certain audiophile and audio dealer circles (and vice versa sometimes I must admit).

Personally, I was never able to see much difference, as far as gear is concerned: boutique companies, valve amps, cable wars, the works...🙂
