I don't use a seperate GPU so can't help there.

If you don't need separate powerful GPU, HQP OS on bootable USB stick is best way to go.

@luisma shared them on page 1 of this thread.

Also the post Miska linked in his reply to me.

That's the only steps I needed to get it working.

Also Miska can you take a look at list on first page and see if all steps are correct or changes need to be made and correct.

Less trouble, or for future add the AMD's repository so "sudo apt install -f" is able to pull the needed things from there too...

could you please look at 1st page and see if thoses steps are right or what changes ? If i go down to build 55 everything else can stay the same.Had enough for tonight .>like i said earlier if you could please send the complete list of commands so  i could just copy and past would be appreciated because i" m just going in circles.

so after wget command or sudo dpkg hqplayerd.

wget just downloads stuff. "dpkg -i" installs a package...

sudo apt -y update
sudo apt -y dist-upgrade
sudo apt -y autoremove

sudo wget https://www.sonarnerd.net/src/focal/linux-headers-5.4.85-jl+_5.4.85-jl+-4_amd64.deb

sudo apt install -f
sudo hqplayerd -s hqplayer hqplayer
sudo systemctl enable hqplayerd
sudo systemctl restart hqplayerd

sudo systemctl status hqplayerd

Note that the commands will need to be updated every time there are updated packages.

When you update some component, you just download and install the relevant package. And if it complains about missing dependencies you "sudo apt install -f" to install those. Sometimes this may require adding a new package repository to the system like in case of the AMD GPU support.

No, the "systemctl restart hqplayerd" will start it. But you'll need to reboot to switch to my current kernel. It depends a bit if it becomes default or not. I think currently you either need to manually select it in boot loader menu, or edit grub configuration.

Here in the earlier steps you are setting the username and password:

sudo hqplayerd -s hqplayer hqplayer

So it is "hqplayer" and "hqplayer"
