firedog
Mine is bad. Even when I straighten it out it seems to spontaneously re-tangle itself. Computer audio hasn't helped, by necessitating a nearby PC (or 2), router, etc. Also components from different manufacturers complicate the situation as they can often put electrical and cable outlets in differnent places on the units, which forces cables of various types to cross over. semente
I built ICs and speaker wire to measure, the backside is actually pretty tidy. It would be even better if I could get rid of the kids' game consoles and the TV... Don Hills
A spaghetti tangle isn't necessarily a bad thing. It puts an airgap between the cables, reducing coupling. One of the worst things you can do is bundle all the cables neatly together... I agree with Semente, custom lengths are the best way to go. r_w
Yep the back of the audio system rack is tidy with minimal length DIY ICs. It's everything else (LAN and mainly AV kit) letting the team down and I don't have the same passion for optimising AV). (Should have called the thread the ugly side of AV) ;-) I built ICs and speaker wire to measure, the backside is actually pretty tidy.It would be even better if I could get rid of the kids' game consoles and the TV... YashN
How bad is your spaghetti? ... it actually used to be quite a bit worse. Very bad for me, it looks like wires procreate. There is always more, more, more. A friend of mine does it a priority to hide cables. Here, I sometimes get tripped up by my own.
