SeeHear
At least the 30 day trial has reappeared, so I'll give it another go in the hope that the streaming has improved. That and a desktop offline mode is all I want. Where did you see the 30 day trial offer? Thanks, SeeHear EDIT: Never mind - I just found it. Link to comment
SeeHear
Just a minute... Why does the tidal phone app need to access my microphone? Link to comment
DRB100
No problem with that. But, if I could rent the best houses all over the world and have unlimited access for the price of a single house I'd probably go that route. If Jay Z & CO. wanted to get my respect, they should turn Tidal into a Non-Profit org, and then they could all get a tax write off for their own contributions and then have the monthly fee as a tax write off for the user. If they actually had any profits, which is doubtful, they could give that money away for music scholarship. I'd support that, at least we'd know these "owners" aren't doing it for the money and that we could get a tax break. I'll bet they would get a lot more people that way. :-) Link to comment

SeeHear
Perhaps "Jay Z & CO." would respect you if you gave away your work-product. You could donate any compensation for your work you're entitled to for educational scholarships in your field. That way, we'd know you weren't working for the money. Wait!! Why, exactly, do we _need_ to know you don't work for the money? Now that I think about it... No. No, I wouldn't respect you at all if you gave away your work-product for free. I would think you're a fool. Why do people think musicians shouldn't be paid for their work? If you think what they do is so easy, do it yourself; then you won't have to pay anyone. Oh, wait - who's going to pay your bills while you (assuming you have any aptitude for it) make all this music that you don't buy? Or provide the training and the instruments? Oh, yeah - your non-profit? But, who's going to support your non-profit? ;^) Link to comment

eternaloptimist
As far as I know the major upgrade to Tidal fixed the issues. Certainly has fixed the stuttering and dropouts here in Australia. Streams start quickly and I am not getting the session hangs or stuttering that caused me to drop the subscription. I'm back! Now the question is whether to keep Spotify... Not for me with 120/20 Mbps Internet speeds in the U.S , whether using Amarra SQ or not . Crazy thing is Tidal plays flawlessly on my Auralic Aries being used wirelessly . Never have a dropout, pops, or stuttering . It's the only thing keeping me from canceling my Tidal sub. Link to comment
Catalysis
While I'm pleased to finally have glitch free Tidal desktop music, the issue remains that if for any reason my bandwidth is temporarily reduced there is no offline mode to accommodate for that. Also, because I am now exploring its repertoire much deeper in the absence of the previous problems, I'm seeing that it is pretty thin compared with Qobuz, for example. Still some way to go but enough to make me a subscriber I think. Link to comment

jhwalker
Give it time ! Bet the stuttering comes back . FWIW, no stuttering / pops here in the U.S. for weeks, using either the Mac native client or Chrome browser. Use it every day. Jimmypowder
Give it a rest jimmy. For me , the streaming problems are just as bad as they ever were . Nothing wrong with my network . So why does it work so perfectly on my wireless Aries and not my wired Mac no matter whether I use Amarra Sq or not ? Link to comment
brw
Nothing wrong with my network . So why does it work so perfectly on my wireless Aries and not my wired Mac no matter whether I use Amarra Sq or not ? With all due respect, what you have described suggests a less than solid network. If you have a network switch between your router and your wired Mac, for example, it may not pass muster for reliable streaming - even if your browser works as expected. Bypass all components in the path to rule them out. My recent "infrastructure modernization initiative" (excuse to buy new toys) replaced both our cable modem and switch with an ISP-approved ARRIS / Motorola DOCSIS 3 modem and Cisco RV325 respectively. It resolved multiple latency-related issues that impacted audio, video, and VoIP services. (Happy wife, happy life.) Successful streaming requires a rock-solid network, in my experience. -- Wouldn't you really rather have a Lumin? Link to comment

Paul R
Heh heh - Jay-Z posted a few twitter messages today defending Tidal, basically saying Tidal is all about enabling the artist, and is working to get better. The posts made a lot of sense, but I sincerely doubt they were from Jay-Z; they read like spin control from a PR department.
