Joe Pass - Virtuoso

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I can't stop listening to Virtuoso (XRCD) from Joe Pass. Can anyone recommend similar albums?

I have that album and in that version and I understand your enjoyment.

Okay Chris these are may not be in the exact same vain but still to my mind some extraordinary and enjoyable guitar work.

  • BRUCE COCKBURN - Speechless
  • KAKI KING - Legs To Make Us Longer
  • LEO KOTTKE - 6 and 12 String Guitar (pretty well known)
  • JOHN FAHEY - The Yellow Princess
  • KENNY BURRELL - Guitar Forms (not entirely solo guitar but well worth a listen)

I have Martin Taylors's Artistry, from Linn.

Great solo playing, great sound and a very relaxing experience.

One of my favorite renditions of "gentle rain".

Chris,

Virtuoso #2, Blues For Fred, Jim Hall, Johnny Smith, Anthony Wilson, of course, Wes Montgomery (it goes on and on) etc.

Best,

Richard
