However, "Check audio HD profile" does not work.

Does it tell you it's unavailable during trial, or simply do nothing?  Either way, I'd try again later after a restart just to see.  It's quite nice (when it works, of course).

Yes, I love it -- see above.  But it only works for PCM, not DSD. (I should have expected this.)

Ahh!  (Clarifying, that's with DSD *input*.  Upsampling to DSD, it will still work.)

Using an ASIO driver, I can upsample PCM to DSD256. However, DSD64 stays at DSD64 ????

Yes, Audirvana has never upsampled DSD to DSD.

Looking at local tracks, sorting by multiple criteria is rather cumbersome to set up.

I like all the available criteria a lot. A list that stayed open and you could drag and drop from that eliminated criteria you'd already chosen would be nice, but I don't know what's involved in coding that.

It plays fine -- what stn is it?

One problem I see is that you can only add it temporarily. You cannot save it for easy recall later -- that is problematic.

I haven't found a way - yet. But it may already be included. I'm not at the computer right now, but this could show up as WCRB or one of several WGBH stations in a search.

Unfortunately, track# is not one of the criteria in the drop down list.  I like my tracks in track# (within the album)!

In JRiver Media Center, to sort, one just clicks on the column header. If you want a four-criteria sort, you click on the 4th, 3rd, 2nd, then 1st criteria,  Voila!

Audirvana does sort by column headers, but I haven't used multiple ones so I don't know if that works.

I was fairly sure I had track number (with disc number one higher - essential) as sort criteria.

To sort by column header, I can only get it correct for one column.

No drop down Track# criteria in the Windows version.  Of course, you can click on the column header -- but what good is that?

It's in the sort criteria for tracks. As I thought, it's one of the criteria I'm using.

I just found it.  Apparently, I had been using the filter button, not the sort columns button. Live and learn.

Yes, I understand the distinction, but especially when reduced to icons and tooltips, it can be confusing.

It’s one thing I hate about software lately. The push to remove all words and tool tips, forcing people to “f” around to find out.

Though to be fair, these icons do have tooltips.

No sort settings available for radio stations.

The categories are essentially the sort function (alphanumeric within categories), and stations are searchable.

Any way to get rid of the initial splash screen upon starting up Audirvana Studio?  It's annoying.

Here's the "local" category:

Looks like random order to me.

Ah, I mostly access mine through the Locations category, so I haven't paid attention to Local.

Agree, I'd love to have a bit more transparency on what it actually does, and have an opt-out possibility.

Since so far as I can tell everything plays just fine without analysis completing, I'm not certain an opt-out is needed.

Has anyone got this working on W10 on a headless machine?

I have the app installed and it'll open but does not find my dac nor allow me to open "Settings". I don't want to pull the pc from my rack and connect up a screen and mouse.

A3.5 has not given me any issues over a remote connection.

Until the remote comes, I'm using the free version of RealVNC.

Edit: Or are you having problems with UPnP/DLNA? There, Studio works fine for me.

Hi Jud

The issue is I cannot open Settings, cannot define a Library path or an output device. Clicking on the Settings Icon does nothing at all.

I'll stick with Remote Desktop as the "old" Audirvana works (and so does HQP, JRiver et al).

Thanks

Mark

This is the case even after restart?

Remote Desktop and RealVNC do very similar things, so no particular reason to change if you like the former.

Edit: I suppose as a last resort you could try uninstalling and reinstalling.

It's needed to (a) stop Studio from taking resources -- some of us multitask, and (b) stop Studio from sending info home (I would think this one would bother a lot of people).

I'm presuming the software must comply with EU law, which I believe requires opt-in before data can be used for marketing purposes.

Have you been able to trace analysis to a use of resources sufficient to slow or prevent multitasking on your computer?

Anyone else see this behavior? Studio will say it's analyzing my library, and based on CPU and network utilization it looks like it truly is analyzing the music. However, after 30 minutes or so, all the CPU and network activity will stop, but Studio still says Analyzing audio files.

Screen Shot 2021-05-17 at 9.30.40 AM.png

Yes. I conjectured it either says Analyzing all the time because it is on standby for any changes, or it is a UI bug.

My supposition is that the analysis is for the purposes of providing additional information about local files and for music suggestions based on what is being played. But an explanation of what is happening would be nice.

Maybe of interest to someone. These are domains that Audirvana Studio has been talking to since I installed the application this morning (compare old Audirvana above):

Also, an opt-out or pause of the audio analysis would have been nice. This has been the state of my computer all day:

B2Clogin has to do with tracking the subscription. jQuery, aspnetcdn, and windows.net would be components of the application being accessed on Windows, perhaps?  Google APIs (application programming interfaces) for the search functionality? Just speculating....
