WTFPlay is only available on Linux OS.  Now there's a *steep* learning curve, not for this little black duck.

Just a couple of updates for:

 

MusicBee:

 

Quite a nice interface, there are a few minuses though and really troubling. Since I couldn't listen to DSD, that was the end of SQ judgements.

 

- No cover Art for DSD64

- Crashes when playing any DSD

- ASIO and WASAPI only, no network streaming support

- Uninstall doesn't. Add/Remove, then manually remove.

 

AIMP:

 

BIG minus - doesn't adjust to the sample rate of the file, needs to be completed manually. itunes clone!

 

Audirvana for Windows

 

- Not liking transport issues for DSD.

@yamamoto2002, this is a stop message that doesn't proceed further. The installer starts, then the message. I have full rights to the file, does the installer?

OK it's fun to play with PC software players but, if you didn't want to mess about and just cut to the chase check out someone like Auralic.

 

I dunno - am I missing the point here?

 

 

How the files are stored and transmitted to the streamer make a  considerable difference. The player has a great deal of influence, or the server/client software impacts as well, but the client/control point, less of an influence on SQ.
