Popular Post firedog
I'm very in favor of number 3, especially. I've proposed it a couple of times within threads when those threads have been sidetracked by someone from the opposite camp. There's no reason a person who asks about the sound of a cable needs to be lectured at by people who say it can't make a difference - he's assuming it does and isn't interested in being told he's clueless. And the same is true for someone who posts measurements showing some device does nothing - he doesn't need to be told "I can hear what it does" or "we don't know how to measure everything". I think the ability to enter that thread and post a link to the "opposing" thread, is all that's necessary. Not sure why number 4 is necessary. If someones posts are out of line, number 6 - the block - can be imposed. OP moderation rights should be made more explicit, and the editing ability more available. But an OP shouldn't be allowed to just get rid of posts that are acceptable in tone only because he doesn't like or disagrees with them. That would turn this place into the Steve Hoffman forum. I'm in favor of the rest of it. beetlemania, Teresa, The Computer Audiophile and 1 other 3 1 Main listening (small home office): Main setup: Surge protectors +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Protection>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three BXT (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments. In spite of what you imply, engineers differ on many of these topics, just like non-engineers. I'm pretty sure John Swenson, to give one example of many, doesn't think he is designing snake oil products, no matter what you think. Engineers perspective is good, but isn't proof. Just gives us dueling experts instead of dueling non-experts.
